CAMP 2016

As you have seen from the newsletter, Senior camp starts first followed by Juniors.

SENIOR CAMP (ideal/recommended age 12+) Ponies/Horses and KIDS arrive Thursday 30th June, to sleepover until Sunday 3rd July afternoon. Instructors (provisionally): Sharon Watters, Erin Faloona, Rachel Ferres.

JUNIOR CAMP/ DAY CAMP Ponies and KIDS arrive Sunday 3rd July to sleepover until Wednesday 6th July afternoon. Instructors (provisionally): Sharon Watters, Rachel Ferres, Ami McNeice.

PRIZEGIVING and BBQ FOR ALL WEDNESDAY EVENING (6th July)!

We will be encouraging group work and friendly competition in the ‘Yard Duties’, and a structured programme for both ‘Riding’ and ‘Stable Management’!!

There will be the usual disciplines, to assist preparation for Areas and Home Championships. In the evening, we hope to have some great activities to exhaust you even more! such as Un-Mounted games, Equine talks, and maybe even an evening on the beach??(weather permitting). If anyone has any other ideas, shout!

**As before, it is essential that 2 parent helpers sleep over, without this, the children would have to leave and come back the following morning. This always seems to be the most difficult part to commit to. The organising group cannot stress enough this request, and ask for your support.**

Junior camp falls during the week, so please be prepared to offer a sleepover. The sooner you all know, the better. There will be a set up/cleaning night on TUESDAY 28th JUNE, and a take down/tidy-up on WEDNESDAY 6th JULY late afternoon in preparation for Prizegiving that night. ALL SHOULD MUCK-IN!!!!!

To keep the cost of camp at a reduced rate, we will be asking every family to bring a ‘pot’ of something at a specific mealtime. Nothing too taxing, but more on this nearer the time.

As recommended by the Safeguarding guidance, it is good practice to have as many helpers checked through AccessNI. (Please see forms attached with application). If you have already received a certificate, please provide evidence with your child’s application. The same applies to First aid, in that if you hold a valid qualification, please include this information, as a first aider needs to be on site throughout camp.

Emergency contacts: If you are not available, either day or night, you must provide a contact number for a designated other, and make the camp supervisor aware.

During that last few years, Senior children have been a massive help during Junior camp, and this year we hope they will still have enough energy to volunteer. This year the committee has decided that, in the interest of everyone getting as much sleep as reasonably possible, Seniors won’t be sleeping over during Junior Camp. However, their help during the day is still greatly appreciated and they are welcome to stay for dinner and participate in any evening activities arranged.

A sleep-over/helper rota will be displayed at the rally night when back at the Grahams, and camp can be confirmed when all the gaps are filled.

Every child is required to wear Mid Antrim PC polo and sweatshirt (Available at PC) and correct footwear and jodhpurs for all lessons/stable management during camp.

We are aware that Stables are limited, so please be patient if we can only organise a Stall.

There will be more info to follow when application is paid in full.

Places are limited, and will be allocated on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.

Please return the application with £20 deposit to
