ARUP Blood Services & Ken Garff Southtowne Summer Car GiveawayRules

Promotion Period: Friday, May 23, 2008–September 12, 2008

Objective: To motivate people to donate blood during the summer season.

Grand Prize: One grand prize will be awarded a 24-month lease on a vehicle from Ken Garff Southtowne.

Rules & Conditions:

  • All presenting whole blood and platelet donors will be issued one entry per registered donation for the grand prize drawing.
  • Presenting volunteer blood and platelet donors at ARUP Blood Services are eligible to enter and will be issued one entry. Each entry is non-transferable and has no cash value. The odds of winning are based on the number of entrants.
  • Promotion is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • All presenting volunteer donors or whole blood and platelets are eligible to win; autologous, directed, and therapeutic donors are not eligible.
  • Presenting platelet and whole blood donors will be issued one entry ticket for each platelet donation attempted during the campaign period.
  • ARUP Blood Services reserves the right to disqualify any entrant.
  • One hundred entrants selected as finalists will be notified by phone and will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release.
  • The 100 finalists must meet credit requirements as determined by Ken Garff Southtowne.
  • If a selected finalist chooses not to comply with credit requirement conditions, the opportunity to participate in the giveaway will be forfeited.
  • The winner of the giveaway will be selected on Saturday, October 18, 2008, at Ken Garff Southtowne.
  • Finalists must be present at Ken Garff Southtowne to be eligible to win. Once the winner is determined, the winner will have his or her photo taken with ARUP Blood Services and Ken Garff Southtowne officials.
  • Winner shall receive a 24-month lease on a 2008 Mitsubishi vehicle (from Ken Garff Southtowne Superstore through Terry Baird).
  • Winning participant is responsible for the cost of titling and plating the vehicle at the time of vehicle delivery. Winner is responsible for insuring and maintaining vehicle for the term of the lease according to lender guidelines. Winner is subject to credit approval by finance source. Winner is responsible for any excess miles for the term of lease at $0.15–22 cents per mile. All terms and conditions of lease contract are binding and will remain unchanged.
  • Winner must be 18 years of age or older on October 18, 2008, and have a valid drivers license.
  • Ken Garff Southtowne officials will schedule a date, time, and place for the winner to complete lease paperwork and take possession of the vehicle.
  • Event vehicle may be but is not guaranteed to be the winning vehicle, dependent on vehicle inventory.
  • Prizes are non-transferable; no prize substitution or cash redemption is allowed except as provided herein.
  • Prize winner is responsible for any state and/or federal taxes obligations associated with winning the lease.
  • Prize winner name will be made available at the conclusion of the promotion. Sponsors reserve the right to use the name and/or image of the winner in advertising or similar uses in connection with the promotion.
  • Judges’ decision is final in determining the winner through an impartial drawing.
  • Winner must show valid ID to claim prize, be 18 years of age by October 18, 2008, and be a licensed driver with valid operating insurance.
  • Neither ARUP Blood Services, ARUP Laboratories, or Ken Garff Southtowne is responsible for accidents/damage to property or person incurred while using the grand prize.
  • Prizes are non-refundable and cannot be combined with any other offer.
  • Void where prohibited.
  • Blood-drive sponsors have the right to decline participation in the giveaway.
  • Blood donors must meet FDA guidelines for donation.
  • No donation is necessary for entry.
  • One bonus entry will be given to participating donors from May 23–31, 2008; June 30– July 9, 2008; and August 25–September 1, 2008.
  • One bonus entry will be given to participating donors at scheduled blood drives at Ken Garff Southtowne between May 23, 2008 and September 12, 2008.
