Introduction
The technology (XMP) outlined in this guide will enable you to enter ARTstor Core data and embed it within a media resource. There are many benefits of using XMP (Extensible Metadata Platform) technology. The primary one being, data is enclosed within the resource hence travels with the resource, effectively eliminating the commonly encountered “orphan” issue, where either the data or the image is lost due to missing / invalid references.
This guide will serve to illustrate the following:
1) Catalog XMP data in Photoshop
Prerequisites:
Adobe Photoshop*
Adobe Bridge (optional -- only required for batch cataloging)
QuickSTOR (required to upload images to ARTstor)
* tested with CS3
Photoshop

4)Give the template a name
5)Fill out the values and Save.
6)Select the images which you want to batch update.
7)Click on the name of the saved template (step 4) under Tools /Append Metadata menu.
8)The selected images’ ARTstor Core metadata has been updated. To continue cataloging, select an image. If the ARTstor Core fields are not viewable under the Metadata Panel, minimize other panels by clicking on the arrow to the left of the panel title. Maximize ARTstor Core Panel..
9)If needed click and drag mouse upwards at the bottom of the Preview panel to lengthen the Metadata Panel making ARTstor fields are viewable at once.
10)Enter additional values by clicking on the relevant fields
