Big Local SW11 Fitness Movement Grant 2017

About

The Big Local SW11 Fitness Movement Grantwill enable local community organisations, groups and charities to initiate new physical activity programmes and activities targeting adults aged 18+. Applications may be for setting up new programmes, equipment, kit, marketing, improving coaching standards, and administration. Applications for capital investment willnot be funded.

We are particularly keen to fund programmes and activities that reach groups who do not traditionally participate in physical activity. These include older people, people with long term conditions or disabilities, and minority ethnic groups. We consider physical activity in a broad sense, not just limited to sport and exercise activities, but including walking, cycling, gardening and anything else that gets people moving.

The grant aims to support the objectives of the Big Local SW11 Vision and Active Wandsworth Sport & Physical Activity Strategy:

  • Safety and Wellbeing (Big Local SW11) - Develop an all age programme of activities throughout the BLSW11 area using outdoor spaces, leading to increased sense of safety , improved spaces and greater community unity
  • Increasing Participation (Active Wandsworth) – Supporting the whole community to lead an active and healthy lifestyle
