After selecting an artist find one of their major works. Document this piece with the year and title. You will write a one page paper highlighting what that artist is known for and include why this artwork was your favorite. Which art movement is your artist associated with? What is or was their work about? What makes it special in history?
Along with your paper you must create an artwork inspired by the famous painting and artist you selected. You may choose the media. What would work best for you and your subject? You may use a different media than the artist used. No shortcuts, I should see time invested in your piece. I should see depth and value through your use of color. Also, your paper should include why you selected this artist and work. What drew you to it? Refer to art terminology used throughout the trimester.
