Resolution to Amend the Budget to Support an EWOCC Organizer Position and Approve Additional Funding for GA Meetings

WHEREAS The Empowering Women of Color Conference (EWOCC) was founded in 1984 and will be hosted for the 31st time in 2015; and
WHEREAS The Women of Color Initiative (WOCI) Director coordinates various events, works with multiple parties, and support the WOCI project and its mission through numerous mediums; and
WHEREAS These numerous responsibilities have necessitated the need for an individual to directly address the planning requirements associated with the organization of EWOCC; and in addition
WHEREAS The Graduate Assembly (GA) has observed an increasing number of participating delegates in the 2014-15 academic year with nearly 100 delegates representing over 60 departments; and
WHEREAS The large number of delegates participating this year makes the projected 14-15 budget allotment for the GA meetings and meals line item inadequate; therefore be it
RESOLVED That the GA 2014-15 operating budget be amended to transfer $2000 from the WOCI Assistant Stipend line item, $500 from the WOCI PSA line item, and $3500 from the CAVP staff budget to support the stipend for an EWOCC organizer position for a total of $6000; and be it further
RESOLVED That the GA 2014-15 operating budget be amended to transfer $1,250 from our carry forward to GA meetings and meals for a line item total of $10,500.
