ART APPRECIATION- WINFIELD-PFEFFERKORN

WATERCOLOR ACTIVITIES.

Keep in mind that you will need the following for the activity and allow yourselves at least 15 minutes to complete it.

These supplies will be available in the top drawer or on the top of the cabinet market Art Appreciation in the media center.

YOU WILL NEED:

AT LEAST 2-3 PLASTIC CUPS FOR EACH TABLE FILLED WITH WATER.

So about 15-20 cups.

I AM GOING TO BRING A LARGE SODA BOTTLE FILLED WITH WATER TO MAKE IT EASY and just fill it in the classroom.

You will need watercolor paper for each student- they can draw a square to use as their ‘painting’ space like in the tutorial. The watercolor paper will be provided and in the drawers in the media center. I am going to ‘cut’ the sheets in halves as their paintings do not need to be as large as an actual sheet and to save cost(s). They do NOT need to tape these to the desks.

I will provide paints for the class to share – please put back when you are finished. I am providing at least two class sizes at once so there should not be a problem. All supplies will be in the drawers by Tuesday, November 3, 2015. Everything will be labeled.

Have each student sketch out anything they wish to draw and paint it in watercolors using any of the techniques discussed in the video tutorial lesson and/or in the presentation. There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to do this-they can draw a tree and try to paint it or a landscape or something that you can put up on the board. just so they have fun! Try to remind them of the techniques like wet on wet and dry on dry.

Examples below. Have Fun!
