Arlington ABATE Meeting Minutes

Meeting open: 12:10 p.m.
Pledge and Moment of Silence: Led by Pistol Bob
Secretary Report: Approved as printed on the website, with one (1) abstention
Treasurer’s Report: Read and approved with one (1) abstention
Membership Report: Cards have been sent by mail. Waiting on membership numbers from the state.
Products Report: No Report
Legislative Report: Remember to vote on March 1st.
Chapter Representative’s Report: The next state meeting is March 12 at 1:00 at the VFW Post 2494 in Irving. The post will be serving burgers, French fries, or onion rings for $5.00. ABATE will purchase lunch for state board members. The information will be posted on our website and Facebook page.
Security Report: We are secure.
Webmaster Report: P-Nut will modify the membership link to include new address and new membership form.
Public Relations (PR) Report: A member received $100 discount on a tire at Two Wheel World when mentioning she is an ABATE member.
Old Business: Biker’s Ball will be March 12th at 7:00 p.m. at Stumpy’s. Live music provided by Triple Lindy. Nay Nay is working on the 20 centerpieces. She brought two of them which met with enthusiastic approval of the members present.
Harleys Hugging Homeless charity event was a huge success. Many needed supplies were taken to the Arlington Life Shelter. Arlington Life Shelter has asked to be added to the links on our website. This was discussed and approved by the members present. P-Nut will add a link to our website.
A suggestion was made that Harleys Hugging Homeless become an annual event. There was discussion about insuring the venue will be family friendly. Voted and approved with one (1) abstention.
Discussion concerning the voting rights of child members was tabled. Voted and approved with one (1) abstention.
New Business: ABATE has been asked to set up a booth at Longhorn. Vote was taken to not set up the booth and passed with one (1) abstention.
AMSEP Update: Bearpupis awaiting an appointment with an attorney to finalize 501(c)3 filing. 50/50 tickets were sold, proceeds donated back to AMSEP.
Open Floor: Benefit Ride for Clint Cummings, February 28th. Meet at Burleson Porch at 8:00 a.m. to ride to Waco. A GoFundMe page has been set up
Be Happy Chili Cook-Off. March 18-19 at Loyd Park, Joe Pool Lake. Friday night wings cook-off, Saturday Chili cook-off. Benefits OWLS.
Crawfish Boil. April 2, 11:30 – 8:00, Mens Auxiliary VFW Post 2494, Irving.
