OBJECTIVE: Students need to understand the events that led to the development of individual political ideologies in the American Colonies, these ideologies diverged American and British objectives and when combined with the British desire to exploit their colonial holding economic gain, there become differences that cannot be reconciled thus revolution soon occurs.
ASSIGNMENT: Create an annotated time line which traces the establishment of the colonies, important historical eras in their development and events that shaped their varying social and economic systems, and finally their union to find independence from the British Monarch.
You may choose the events to annotate and not all must be annotated; for instance, you may include the passage of each Townshend Act and his appointment as Chancellor of the Exchequer, but may annotate their importance and consequences together since combined they have lasting impacts.
Because this assignment is extra credit there will be a high level of emphasis on quality of work; this is an opportunity to go above and beyond and make up for missed opportunity in past assignments, thus there is a strict rubric that will be followed to gain credit.
