Approval of Past Minutes (1 minute)–December minutes approved

Ski Trip (10 minutes) – Constance

  • Deadline for to purchase lift tickets 1/12/16, check the portal for the discount code (Bekki placed code on portal yesterday). Volunteers needed to help man theOHSU info booth at Mt. Bachelor from 8:30-10:00am

Gala (5 minutes) – Constance

  • Last year it was May 8th, thinking of making it earlier this year. If you are interested in volunteering please email Nichole Slyhous ;committee to decide on dates. Grad students busy May 6th. Dental Prom will be held this year.

Volunteer Opportunities (5 minutes) – Jacob Goertz

  • Oregon Food Bank Volunteer Day – if interested email Jake. Feb. 20th is the date 9:30-11:00am.

Volunteer Award Ceremony (5 minutes) - Amelia

  • Recognizes students for volunteer efforts. Approx. 7-8 student awards (1st place award & a runner-up award) with cash prizes. Long standing event – has been going on for 10 years. Volunteer of Year = $500 cash prize. MC – Dana again. Need selection committee, a lot of effort is put into it. Dinner associated with it. Thoughts about moving the location – Gym… Maybe move it to the Vay Center in Doernbecher? Is there Interest: do we continue on with this event?
  • Should we change the title? How to better market it? If interested in planning and/or brainstorming email Amelia

School Updates(5 minutes):

  • Policy advisory Committee is looking for an All-Hill representative – if interested please let Jake () know

Regular Updates(15 minutes)

  • JBT Health and Wellness Center(Sarah Lemley)
  • Dependent insurance coverage survery on portal – re: continue/discontinue dependent coverage. Get on there give your voice
  • Student Health Insurance Waiver & Dependent Enrollment – January 15th 2016. If you have dependents insured you need to take action
  • Masks On! Declared yesterday. Must wear mask if you do not have your flu shot or that you have submitted an attestation form – you should receive a check mark sticker.
  • Gardasil 9 is being offered – free of cost, insurance is billed & anything not covered is written off by JBT
  • Student Center/ Student Life (Karen Seresun)
  • Hot tub is closed right now for repairs, should be up & running by end of next week.
  • Student Center Events(Heather Ennis)
  • Intramural registration is open! Website is back online. Leagues start 1/19/16, soccer starts 1/25
  • Closed MLK Jr. Day
  • Gym is closed 1/22 for a blooddrive
  • New artist exhibit arriving 1/16
  • March Wellness(Erich Knipschild)
  • Workout classes are filling up, be patient, get there early. Yoga, pilates, bootcamp classes have been added to the 12:15p time slot.
  • Due to construction parking is becoming a problem and violations strictly enforced, parking validation only provided during time spent inside March Wellness.
  • Library(Laura Ziegen and Stephanie Kerns)
  • Library reconfiguration was completed during winter break. Now it is a wide open study space on 3rd & 4th floors
  • In the process of launching EndNote; RefWorks will be continued for one more year. Librarians will be available to help transfer your material from RefWorks to EndNote. Classes and demos about how to use EndNote will be coming in the future.
  • EndNote does not work with Chrome – use firefox.
  • EndNote is in the process of providing compatibilitywith the latest mac iOS system El Capitan.

  • First student news newsletter will be published in two weeks. Newsletter will be coming out monthly to highlight items on the portal. If there are items you want highlighted email Bekki
  • Convocation is Sunday June 12th at 1:00 pm
