KPI Zone / Actual duration of the construction process at Available for Use less the anticipated duration of the construction process at Commit to Construct, expressed as a percentage of the anticipated duration of the construction process at Commit to Construct.
Predictability Cost (Construction) / Constructing Excellence
KPI Zone / Actual cost of the construction process at Available for Use less the anticipated cost of the construction process at Commit to Construct, expressed as a percentage of the anticipated cost of the construction process at Commit to Construct.
Client Satisfaction (Product) / Constructing Excellence
KPI Zone / How satisfied the client was with the finished product/facility, using a 1 to 10 scale.
Client Satisfaction (Service) / Constructing Excellence
KPI Zone / How satisfied the client was with the service of the consultants and main contractor, using a 1 to 10 scale.
Defects / Constructing Excellence
KPI Zone / The condition of the product/facility with respect to defects at the time of handover, using a 1 to 10 scale.
Health & Safety / Constructing Excellence
KPI Zone / Reportable accidentsper 100,000 employed per year(reportable accidents are defined in Health and Safety Statistics published by the Health and Safety Executive as fatalities, major injuries, and over 3 day injuries to employees, self employed people and members of the public).
Apprenticeships / CCI
KPI Engine / Measures the number of apprenticeship* weeks per £100,000 construction contract value (*new, existing or shared apprenticeship weeks.
Local Employment / CCI
KPI Engine (untargeted) / Measures the level of local labour engaged on a project as a percentage of the total workforce (not visitors). The definition of local should be closely defined in collaboration with the client at the start of the project.
Carbon / CCI

KPI Engine / Measures tonnes of CO2 emissions per £100,000 construction contract value from the following construction activities:
  • Material Transport to Site (Mileage Diesel / Petrol Van)
  • On site Power (Mains Electricity, Mains Gas, Diesel, LPG)
  • Passenger Transport – Main Contractor (Mileage Diesel / Petrol Car)
  • Passenger Transport – Sub Contractor (Mileage Diesel / Petrol Car)
  • Passenger Transport – Visitor (Mileage Diesel/Petrol Car)
  • Water Usage (Mains Water, Tanked Water)

Fair Payment / ERG / Measures whether client payments to Tier 1 and Tier 1 to Tier 2 & 3 are made in accordance with the fair payment cycle (Cabinet Office Information Note and Guidance Clauses - Information Note 2/2010).
Waste to Landfill / WRAP / Measures the amount of waste (construction, demolition and excavation) in tonnes sent to landfill per £100,000 construction contract value.
SME (Engagement) / NIEP (untargeted) / Measures the proportion of suppliers engaged on a project that are defined as SMEs, expressed as a percentage of the total numbers of suppliers. SMEs are generally understood to include:
- Micro-businesses: with 10 or fewer people, and/or an annual turnover of no more than £2m;
- Small businesses: with 50 or fewer people, and/or an annual turnover of no more than £10m;
- Medium-sized businesses: with 250 or fewer people, and/or an annual turnover of no more than £50m.
SME (Spend) / NIEP (untargeted) / Measures the value of the construction contract work that is spent with SMEs, expressed as a percentage of construction contract value.
