APPRENTICESHIP LIST

2013

Introduction

Welcome to the 2013 Apprenticeship List. It contains information on employers, training organisations and providers who have already expressed interest in recruiting apprentices in 2013. Please remember that others may decide to recruit at a later date so it is important that you do not limit your applications to those on this list.

Ø  Visit www.apprenticeships.org.uk and register on the Apprenticeship Vacancies section. This website will give you access to local and national vacancies and the different types of apprenticeships available.

Ø  Visit www.lincs2.co.uk - the e-prospectus containing information on learning and training opportunities including apprenticeships in North and North East Lincolnshire.

Ø  Check vacancies advertised in the local press.

Ø  It may be necessary to find your own employer, therefore contact employers directly and ask if they are planning to recruit apprentices in 2013. Many large employers have apprenticeship information on their websites with on-line application forms.

Ø  Apply to ALL training providers for apprenticeships in your chosen type of work, making sure you meet any deadlines.

Ø  Use your own contacts - your family, friends and neighbours might know about vacancies with their employers.

Ø  Have you had a work experience placement as part of your school or college course? If so you could contact the employer about apprenticeship vacancies with them.

Ø  There can be a lot of competition for apprenticeship vacancies, so be well prepared and make sure application forms, CVs, letters and any other documents are fully completed and well written – check your spelling!

Ø  You should consider an alternative or back-up plan in case your applications for apprenticeships are not successful such as further education.

Your Careers Adviser can provide further information, advice and guidance on apprenticeship applications and other options. They can be contacted in your school, college or at the following address:
