__ASB Information__
General Information: ASB is a yearlong elective which works to assist the student body. Members are expected to represent the school, organize the majority of student activities, and maintain at least a 2.5 GPA throughout the year with no U’s in citizenship or N’s in work habits. Once chosen, members will have Leadership as their 4th period class and will receive a grade depending on their attendance, work ethics, and weekly duties. Specific duties include: all jobs required by their positions, help during assemblies, morning/afterschool practices, sport attendance, poster/calendar making, approving bills, and a weekly shift in the student store. Please note that ASB camp and outfits will not be paid for by the school, and also that being in ASB will demand much time commitment inside/outside of school, and during summer.
-Applications are due Friday, May 15th by 3 pm room 240. NO EXCEPTIONS!
-Interview times will be posted outside the ASB room on Wednesday May 18th at 7:30 A.M.
-Interviews will take place May 20th through May 29th
List of Positions:
a. Publicity- Responsible for removing old flyers/posters, coordinating National Anthem singers, managing announcement slips, making announcements over the PA every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and being in charge of ASB markers.
b. Technician (Historian) - Responsible for compiling and editing music, audio, and video for assemblies/events hosted by ASB, updating the marquee, creating flyers (digital) and taking photos.
c. Art Crew- Responsible for creating backdrops for assemblies/ ASB skits and maintaining art supplies.
d. Costume Coordinator- Responsible for designing and creating costumes for assemblies/ ASB skits and keeping the costume closet clean.
e. Dance Crew- Responsible for choreographing dances for ASB skits, conducting dance practices, organize dance practice schedules and taking attendance at practices.
f. Assemblies- Responsible for creating a minute by minute schedule of assemblies as well as class competitions and props, MCing during assemblies, and contacting performing groups. Should be fairly decent at improvising and time conscious.
g. ICC- Responsible for conducting monthly meetings with on campus clubs, approving new clubs, organizing Fall/Spring Fest, checking monthly report forms, and managing bulletin boards/gifts (Gatorade bottles) for sports.
h. Student Store Manager- Responsible forworking daily during break and lunch, stocking/managing the student store, reporting mishaps that may occur within the store, taking work attendance, ordering products sold in the store, pricing items in the store, keeping the student store clean/presentable, and taking inventory.
i. Activities and Athletics- Responsible for managing and organizing all elections held at school, planning spirit weeks as well as lunchtime activities.
j. Visual Arts Commissioner- Responsible for creating posters assigned by admin or other clubs on campus, as well as posters for special occasions and decorating the Student Store chalkboard monthly.
k. Public Relations- Responsible for attending monthly BRC meetings at Garden Grove District and organizing fundraisers for the club.
