NB. Please return this application to the Courts Service, Estate Management Unit, 5th Floor, Phoenix House, 15/24 Phoenix St Nth, Smithfield, Dublin 7 along with either a cheque or postal order for €20 made payable to The Courts Service (CASH WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED). It will take 3 working days for this application form to be processed.

After at least 3 working days please attend at the Security Manager’s Office (off the Round Hall) in the Four Courts. Please bring photo identification (i.e. passport, driving licence etc.). The photograph for your card will be taken on site. Please note cards will only be issued to applicants on Mondays and Thursdays between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m.

This security access card has been issued to you for your personal use only. Misuse of the card, for example:

  • allowing it to be used by another person
  • swiping another person in through the turnstiles

will result in your card being confiscated and destroyed. You will be required to reapply for a new card and a fee of €20 will apply. If you reoffend the card will be confiscated and destroyed and you will be prohibited for applying for a new card for a period of 3 months.

In circumstances where a new card is required to replace a defective card the old card MUST be returned to the Courts Service. In circumstances where a person has ceased employment or has ceased to attend the premises for work purposes their current card must be returned to the Courts Service. For security reasons a lost or stolen card should be reported immediately to the Courts Service.

Cards will be valid for a 5 year period from date of issue
