Application for scholarship to attend the
2018 Scientific Meeting and Education Day
of the Society for Neuro-Oncology

The Societyfor Neuro-Oncology will hold its 23rdAnnual Scientific Meeting and Education Day on November 15 – 18, 2018 at the Marriott Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana.
A total of seven $1500.00 scholarships* will be awarded at the discretion of the SNO International Outreach Committee to applicants from low income or developing nations in each of the following geographical regions (one per region): South America/Central America & the Caribbean, Central and Southern Africa, China & associated countries, Far East and Australasia, Indian Sub-Continent, North Africa & the Middle East and Eastern Europe. In order to be considered for one of the travel scholarships, the applicant must meet the following guidelines:
- Work and live outside the United States or Canada
- Be amedical professional with a focus in neuro-oncology
- Has not previously received the scholarship for a past SNO meeting
- Could otherwisenot attend without the benefit of a travel scholarship
- Is not the presenting author of an abstract being submitteed to the SNO meeting
- Have no visa issues entering the United States (SNO cannot provide visa assistance other than providing a letter of invitation)
- Complete accompanying application (third page) and return by June 1, 2018
Applicants will be notified via email by July 6, 2018if they have been selected for a scholarship.
SNO will provide complimentary hotel accommodations at the conference hotel and registration to the entire meeting. The award winner will be responsible for air transportation and transfer costs to and from the meeting.
Recipients will be invited to present a poster at the meeting during one of the poster sessions.
*The $1500.00 USD award will be presented to the winning applicants on-site at the meeting in
New Orleans. This award is intended to offset travel expenses and may or may not cover all costs.
