Franklin County FFA Officer Application

(Applications are due by March 28th)

Steps in running for FFA Office at FCHS

1. Complete the attached officer application. It is highly suggested that you type your application. The form is on the website: and can be downloaded. The application is a word document.

2. Submit a completed application with all appropriate signatures to one of the agriculture teachers before the due date. When you submit your application, you will be given a study guide to prepare for the written exam.

3. On April 15th, a written exam about FFA will be given to all candidates. The written exams will be constructed, administered, and graded by the agriculture teachers. The results of the written examination will be given to nominating committee prior to each candidate’s interview.

4. A non-partisan nominating committee will select all officers. The committee will consist of the retiring senior FFA officers. The nominating committee may consist of outside members deemed qualified by the advisors. Outside members of this committee will be appointed by the advisors and their identity will not be released prior to the interviews.

5. The nominating committee shall interview each candidate. From the candidates interviewed, the committee will select and recommend a slate of officers to the membership of Franklin County High School FFA. This slate of officers is a recommendation of the nominating committee and must be approved by the membership with a majority vote. In the event that the slate of officer candidates is not approved by the membership, the nominating committee will reconvene.

6. The new slate of officers will be installed using the officer installation ceremonies outlined in the officer notebook and the Official FFA Manual. All new officers must be present for the installation ceremony.

7. All newly elected officers are required to attend the Franklin County FFA Officer Retreat. The retreat will be held in July. The date for the training will be released in May.

8. The President and Vice President will represent the chapter as voting delegates at the State FFA Convention to be held in April and are required to attend.
