Scholarship Application 2014
Application Deadline Monday, February 17, 2014
Recipients must be available to attend the Scholarship Dinner on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 6:30-8:30 pm. in the Branford House. Family members are encouraged to attend.
Students submit a common application for all Avery Point scholarships.
Scholarship workshops will be held on Monday, February 3rdfrom 12:15 -1:15pm and Thursday, February 5th from 4:45 – 5:30pm in the Student Union for students who want more information about the scholarships, or who would like assistance writing the essay or list of accomplishments.
Students must submit:
- Application Cover Sheet
- A 500-800 word essay on the following topic:
Reflect on your past and tell us how receiving an Avery Point scholarship would help you
to achieve your educational goals.
- Two letters of recommendation, written within the past year. At least one letter must be an academic recommendation, written specifically for this scholarship application.
- Attach a separate list of accomplishments, community service and Avery Point involvement activities since becoming a UConn student.
Minimum criteria to apply (additional criteria is noted on the list for each scholarship).
- The student must be a matriculating Avery Point student.
- The student must have completed a minimum of 12 credits at the University of Connecticut at Avery Point.
- The student must have been enrolled at Avery Point for a minimum of two courses during the fall term and two during the spring term of the academic year in which the award is given.
- The student must attend the Avery Point campus during the fall 2014 semester.
- The student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0, and a minimum fall semester GPA of 2.0.

I also agree to attend the Scholarship Dinner to be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 6:30 PM.
