Although you are permitted to provide documents in Japanese, it is also appreciated that you submit an English translation of those documents to help expedite the process asnot all reviewers will be fluent in Japanese. Your understanding is appreciated.

please pay attention to the following common mistakes:

  1. Application FORm

-Question 1: do not write your name in Katakana (Japanese syllabary)

-Question 6: the age is as of April 1, 2019

-Question 11: the number of years is calculated according to the Canadian education system.

  • For instance, an academic cycle starting in September and ending in June of the following year should be counted as 1 year (rather than 10 months). On the other hand, if you terminated your education mid-term for personal reasons, the duration should be 10 months.
  • The total years of education is as of your time of arrival in Japan

-Question 15: select one answer only

-Question 16: select one answer only

-Question 17: select one answer only

-Question 20: self-rate your language proficiency on a scale of 0-3. Do not describe your level in words.

  1. aCADEMIC TRANSCRIPT(S):

-One original copy is required

-Your name must appear on the transcript

-Transcript legend explanation is required

  1. Graduation certificate

-Photocopy of the certificate can be accepted, but it must be authenticated by the school (signed and sealed by the relevant office of the registrar)

  1. RECOMMENDATION LETTER

-The letter must be written by the president/dean or the adviser of the last university attended or the university currently attending

-It can be in any formats, as long as all the questions from the sample are addressed.

  1. CERTIFICATE OF HEALTH

-Use the prescribed form for 2019

-The original copy signed by the doctor is required

-Section 7 must be filled
