Notes from Neighbourhood Plan Meeting held on 22nd August at ‘The Swan’

Apologies: Rick Bell, Jim Sharman, Lesley Hallissey, John Cooper.

  1. Communication

Terry suggested we use Market Bosworth submission and adopt it to our needs. It is important that we establish a timetable. We can use information already available to us i.e. Parish Plan document and information from the4 Heritage Group to pan out the submission.

  1. It was agreed that the monthly meeting should be used as a ‘Clearing House’ and that the various sub groups report back to this meeting. Tim also stated we could ‘cannibalise other neighbourhood plans to see what questions they had asked.
  2. A discussion to place on the method of communication prior to an open meeting. Tim suggested we set up information boards and visit other events and meetings in the village as well as canvassing outside local shops and the library. This will give us a feel of what residents of Newbold Verdon think. We would ask that a person from each of these meeting to be a contact for the group.
  3. The communications team to consist of John Cooper, Joyce Crooks, Roger King, Tim Wright and Eileen Watts.
  4. Bill agreed to try to obtain maps of the Parish for use in identifying areas of possible development. (Joyce has asked Rick to download and forward the maps to Tim Wright for A3 printing).
  5. Terry to speak to Rick about finance and liaise with Bill about funds available.
  6. Heritage. The neighbourhood plan is not only about Housing & Traffic. Market Bosworth included a lot of details in their submission about local heritage, and we should do so too as we have a great amount of details and background pertaining to our village, such as the information in the CAG booklet and also the material form the Parish Plan.
  7. Professional Assistance. We will ultimately require some Professional assistance, specifically in compiling the questionnaire returns and probably in putting the submission together.
  8. Other Matters. Allan Gayton will undertake a search of other Neighbourhood plans in order to evaluate, if there are any additional. areas which could of benefit to us.
  9. Next Meeting Monday 12th September 7.00pm at The Swan.
  1. There was a view that the whole exercise should be completed in 18 months approx .i.e. by the Spring of 2018, and as we have commenced the process, our Plan should have some recognition, with the Borough Council.

Subsequent Meetings will be held on 2nd Monday of each month
