Andy Porter the new owner of Tarves Pharmacy presented his proposal to open a Pharmacy in Pitmedden Village. It wassuggested to Mr Porter that he should consider organising a Public Meeting in Tarves prior to the closure of the Pitmedden Pharmacy Consultation to advise his customers and the residents at large how the pharmaceutical services available at Tarves Pharmacy would be affected if the Pitmedden application were successful.Mr Porter agreed to make the necessary arrangements for the Public meeting and advertise in press.

The above minutes were approved at TCC meeting on Tuesday 12thDecember 16 in Tarves School.

Bob Davidson

Chairman

His company has five pharmacies in Aberdeen as well as in New Deer & Cruden Bay and Tarves. Theirs is a locally run company operated by Mr Porter and his wife. He took over the Tarves Pharmacy in May.

He wants to give a good service to the area and already provides a van to deliver medication to Methlick for 2 hours per day. The opening hours in Tarves will not reduce, however the pharmacist will be half time in Tarves & half in Pitmedden. Pre ordered prescriptions can be collected at any time and arrangements will be made if a new prescription is necessary when the pharmacist is elsewhere. He gave 100% assurances that Tarves Pharmacy will not close even if Pitmedden gets busier than Tarves.

It was suggested that he hold a public meeting to allay the fears of the community and stop false rumours. He agreed that this would be a good idea and will make the necessary arrangments. He will also put Press Releases in local newspapers and TBC.

Plans for Pitmedden Pharmacy were shown – 4 parking spaces at back and 2 disabled spaces at the front. He has been asked to have the Post Office in the building and will consider it. It was also suggested that refereshments might be a good idea for people who have to wait for the next bus.

Consultation will be open until 10/3/17.

Community Council Meetings are always open to the Public
