Article Processing Charge (APC) Request Form

The University of Surrey’s Open Access policy requires that all published journal articles and conference proceedings with ISSN be made available via the Green Open Access route. Authors must deposit their own final, peer-reviewed accepted version in SRI as soon as possible after acceptance and no later than 3 months after publication.

The University will consider requests to publish an article under Gold Open Access if:

  • the journal does not offer a Green option
  • the journal’s Green option does not ensure timely and wide exposure to the work (e.g. an embargo is longer than 6 months for STEM subjects or greater than 12 months for arts and humanities)
  • where the paper is associated with a grant, the Green option does not satisfy the funder’s requirements.

For more information, see our page on Open Access
