ANU College of Business and Economics

Reward for

Quality Research Publications Scheme

Guidelines

The College wishes to reward initiative and excellence in research and has implemented a scheme to reward research publications in high quality journals.

The College Research Committee and Executive have voted to use the Australian Business Deans Council
(ABDC 2016) list, finalised in Dec 2016, for future incentive payments. The College expects that funds be used within three years.

The ABDC 2016 list can be found here: http://www.abdc.edu.au/pages/abdc-journal-quality-list-2013.html .

If a journal is not on the ABDC 2016 list then the ERA 2010 list will be consulted to confirm ‘A’ and ‘A*’ publications

in non-business areas. The Research Services Office has a copy if required. If publications are in outlets that are not one of these lists and the author considers they may be at an equivalent level then they are considered on a case by case basis.

Funding amounts are:

·  A* Journals -- $6,000

·  A Journals -- $1,500

If there is a single author, the full amount is paid. If there are two or more authors, regardless of whether they are internal or external, the amount paid to each internal author is the reward amount divided by √ 2. Funds will be paid into individuals’ research accounts.

Application Process

Researchers whose articles have been accepted by a journal which is listed in either the A* or A lists should forward to :

·  confirmation of acceptance by the journal;

·  a copy of the article;

·  a copy of the abstract outlining the research (approx. 100 words in length);

·  evidence that ethical clearance was obtained (if research involved human subjects); and

·  ANZSRC 6 digit codes; Field of Research (FOR) and Socio-Economic Objective (SEO) codes

(http://www.arc.gov.au/rfcd-seo-and-anzsic-codes).

The revised scheme will apply to journal articles accepted for publication after 31 August 2015.

Eligibility

Academic staff members of the College with at least a fractional appointment of 40 percent are eligible to participate in this scheme.
