  1. Reserve your hotel.We suggest you book in advance through FIL’s Travel Service to receive hotel discounts.

3. Book your flight.The Fair has airline services and discountsfor visiting professionals.

4. Prepare your meetings. To see who will be attending FIL and the publishing offer, we suggest you revise our online 2018Exhibitors, Professionals and Rights Center’ Catalogs, to start organizing meetings at FIL.

5. Prepare your material for business meetings.We suggest you prepare a bilingual information of your company’s profile, and carry business cards.

6. Examine the floor plan of the Fair, available on-line. This will help you get around easily.

7. Examine the Fair’s literary and cultural activities programand choose those of your interest. FIL hosts over 600 book presentations and is visited by more than 500 authors. Reviewing the program will allow you to take better advantage of the opportunities to listen to the authors that interest you and make professional contacts.

8. When packing your bags, remember that in Guadalajara during November temperatures range from 10ºC minimum and 25ºC maximum (50ºF / 77ºF). It is important to bring comfortable shoes, as the Fair demands a lot of walking.

1. Plan your arrival to the venueand check the best way to get there from your hotel in advance.

2. When arriving at FIL, show your confirmation letter at the Pre-registration desk at the entrance of the International Area (in front of the Hilton Hotel) to collect your badge, catalogue and information bag between November 24 to November 25 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and November 26 to November 28 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

3. Be on time for your meetings, as this is important to do good business. In your welcome bag you will find a floor plan indicating the location of stands.

4. Take notes of the any agreementsreached during your business meetings, this will allow you to duly follow-up.

5. Attend the activities of the cultural program, this will give you the opportunity to see how authors perform in front of an audience, as well as make contact with their publishers and personal environment. The preliminary version of the program will be available in October, and you will find a printed version in your welcome bag.

6. Take advantage of social activities.Cocktails, dinners and informal settings are good opportunities to make contacts and start up business.

7. Use the Books Catalog. Do you need to find out if a specific title is available at FIL? This on-line search tool can help you find it. You can access the Books Catalog through FIL’s website beginning November, or go to the search stations located in the fairgrounds, Hall 4.

8. Plan your business lunches and dinners.The Fair offers a Reservations Desk, where you will receive help on the best restaurant options in the metropolitan area of Guadalajara and you can make your reservations there.

9. Ship your packages and take advantage of special rates. If you purchase materials that need to be shipped through courier service, go to the services desk located in the Fair, at the end of street J, Door 4.

1. Keep in touch with potential clients.It is important to reply to e-mails received from both colleagues as well as potential clients.

2. Close deals. If you made a deal during the fair, follow-up on it until you close it.
