Children’s teachers have a very important ministry. It is more than just baby sitting the children till the adult service is over; more than simply occupying the children with activities so they are not noisy. This ministry involves impacting the lives of children towards a personal, vital, and growing relationship with Christ. It involves setting them on the path of everlasting life at a tender age.

Jesus says in Matthew 19:14, “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven”. It is the will of God that even little children come to the knowledge of Christ and it is the responsibility of children teachers to make this happen. It is therefore imperative that these teachers are soundly trained, highly motivated and effectively equipped for this divine assignment.

As a children teacher, you need to pay special attention to your spiritual development. You cannot give what you do not have. You need to be grounded in the Lord before you can bring up someone else. You have to develop a loving relationship with Jesus for you to lead others to such an experience. Take time to study God’s word for your personal benefit, not just to teach the children.

Finally, be encouraged. Do not give up. Make full proof of your ministry. Participate in the preparations towards the forthcoming 2008 children’s convention. Your effort in this ministry is not in vain. The Lord will reward you. He will crown your efforts with success and He will reward your faithfulness, dedication and devotion. You are blessed and highly favored.
