Announcing the APSE “Check-In” Campaign!
As you know, APSE is strongly advocating for Employment First – that employment in the general workforce is the first and preferred outcome for all working age citizens with disabilities. Now APSE needs your support to keep this momentum going!
The APSE Foundation has initiated a “Check-in Campaign” for all APSE Members. Most of us make small donations ($5-$20) to non-profit organizations we like (e.g., American Cancer Association, American Heart Association, Humane Society, poverty programs, etc) because we believe in their work and feel that even our small checks can help. It is those small checks from many people that add up to a large sum and is a huge support to an organization – and every check is important!
The Check-in Campaign is a reminder that APSE is one of those non-profit organizations that needs your support. When we belong to an organization such as APSE, we sometimes forget that there is still a need for fundraising to keep the organization thriving. We are asking each member to consider a small contribution to the APSE Foundation, so APSE can continue its efforts to make “Employment First” a reality – and to ask their friends to do the same. Members’ (and non member friends’) contributions can support APSE so we can continue our efforts to make “Employment First” a reality.
By checking-in, you will be listed on our Foundation site under donor/check-in campaign. The Foundation Board will present this information at the national conference in Seattle, so all attending can hear about the power of our numbers!
Why you should “Check-in”:
Many of our members are organizational members. This is an opportunity to make a personal financial commitment to APSE and “Employment First”
Writing the $5-20 check is part of our culture of caring (and feel free to contribute more than $20 if you’re feeling particularly generous!)
100% of this goes directly to support our efforts, not 50% like others
It’s your chance to make a difference. Help us meet the 100% participation goal
Non-member donors need to see that APSE has support from its membership
Plus your donation is tax deductable!!
As the APSE conference in Seattle states: Employment for All, Believe it, Achieve it!
Please check-in by May 31,2011. We want to have time to count all the donations so we can share with the world how our membership supports us!
