[Investment Climate]
Geographical and Anhui Province is an inland province located in East China, through which the Yangtze River
Social Conditions and the Huai River run. The province borders Jiangsu Province and Zhejiang Province to the east, Hubei Province and Henan Province to the west, Jiangxi Province to the south, and Shandong Province to the north. Anhui Province has promoted the development of water transportation.
The area is rich in resources such as coal and iron ore. It also has abundant tourism resources, including World Heritage sites such as Mount Huangshan and the old villages.
Resource A total of 126 types of underground resources are estimated to exist in the area. Specifically,
Distribution the reserves of coal, iron, copper, and pyrite, etc., are one of the largest in the country.
Major Industries Automobiles, metallurgy, petrochemicals, machinery, electronics, spinning, food, etc.
Infrastructure Railways The area is home to the Jingjiu Railway (Beijing–Kowloon), Hewu
High-speed Railway (Hefei–Wuhan), Jinghu High-speed Railway (Beijing
–Shanghai), Nanjing-Anqing Intercity Railway, and the passenger-dedicated
Hefei-Bengbu High-speed Railway, etc. Under construction are the Zhengzhou-Hefei High-speed Railway, passenger-dedicated
Shangqiu-Hefei-Hangzhou High-speed Railway, and Hefu High-speed
Railway (Hefei–Fuzhou). The construction of the section in Anhui Province of the intercity Hefei-Anqing-Jiujiang High-speed Railway is scheduled to start in 2015. The construction of the Hefei-Lu'an Intercity Railway,
Hefei-Tongcheng Intercity Railway, and Hefei-Dingyuan Intercity Railway, etc., is currently being projected.
Expressways The area is also home to the Jingtai Expressway (Beijing–Taipei), Hushan
Expressway (Shanghai–Shaanxi), and Hurong Expressway
(Shanghai–Chengdu). The Huainan-Hefei section of the Jinan-Qimen
Expressway is under construction. The expansion of the section in Anhui
Province of the Jiguang Expressway (Jinan–Guangzhou) is also underway.
Ports The cities of Hefei, Bengbu, and Wuhu, which are located in areas along the Yangtze River, are equipped with container terminals that meet international standards. The second-phase construction of the Port of Hefei is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2014.

Bridges to The area is home to the Tongling Bridge, Wuhu Yangtze River Bridge, and the Anqing Bridge. The construction of the Wuhu Yangtze River Railway
Bridge, to be used by the passenger-dedicated Shangqiu-Hefei-Hangzhou
High-speed Railway, is scheduled to start within 2014.
Airports The area is home to Hefei Xinqiao International Airport, Anqing Tianzhu
Mountain Airport, Huangshan Tunxi International Airport, Fuyang Xiguan
Airport, and Chizhou Jiuhuashan Airport, etc.
Civil aviation airports are under construction in Wuhu and Anqing, and are scheduled to open in 2020.
Subways Hefei Metro Lines 1, 2, and 3 are scheduled to open in December 2016, June
2017, and 2019, respectively.
Transportation and Rail By China Railway High-Speed (CRH), it takes approximately 4 hours from
Access Hefei to Beijing and approximately 3 hours from Hefei to Shanghai.
Air Regular flights operate from Hefei Xinqiao Airport to Osaka, Hong Kong,
Singapore, Seoul, and Bangkok.

Recent Topics 1. On July 2, 2014, Mizuho Bank, Ltd. and Mizuho Bank (China), Ltd. signed business cooperation agreements with the Hefei Economic and Technological Development Area and the Hefei New Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone. Mizuho bank (China) will take advantage of its network of 18 offices in China to further strengthen its information service systems, such as for advising customers who have already expanded their business to the region covering a broad range of topics and for providing customers considering entering the market with information on the investment environment and with miscellaneous support when they actually enter the region.
2. On July 28, 2014, M G Chemicals, Luxembourg, announced that its subsidiary, M G
International, had established a joint venture, Anhui M G Guozhen Green Refinery
Co., Ltd., in Anhui Province together with Anhui Guozhen Co., Ltd., to construct the world’s largest cellulosic ethanol biorefinery.
3. In March 2014, the State Council approved the establishment of the Hefei
Comprehensive Bonded Zone, the first comprehensive bonded zone in Anhui Province.
4. In November 2013, the Tongcheng Economic and Technological Development Area was promoted to a national-level economic and technological development area.
