Andy Lee Takes Pole, Sets Fastest Lap and Wins Pirelli World Challenge GTS Round 15 in Infinity ECU-Tuned Z28 Camaro in Sonoma

HAWTHORNE, CA—Andy Lee captured his sixth Pirelli World Challenge career victory in Round 15 of the Pirelli World Challenge in GTS, with a dominating effort after starting on the pole, setting the fastest lap and climbing onto the top spot of the podium in a flag-to-flag win.

The Infinity ECU-tuned Bondurant Racing/Laguna Bicycles Z28 Camaro ran flawlessly as it has all season, and after a year of transition within the team all of the pieces are coming together to put the 2012 PWC Rookie of the Year back onto the podium in the final round and propel him further up the overall standings.

“After all of the work my guys have poured into this season, taking the pole, setting a track record and winning all in one weekend makes it that much sweeter,” commented Lee. “My team has worked very hard on our Z28 Camaro’s set up, but the one thing we never worry about is engine control. Winning isn’t easy, and getting every bit of power out of our engine is so crucial. We are able to do that with the Infinity, and that absolutely helped us secure the first win of this year.”

Lee relies on an AEM Infinity ECU and Infinity LS Plug & Play wiring harness for engine control and data logging, which allows the team to review critical data gathered from the factory and AEM sensors after each practice, qualifying and race session. AEM smart coils are called upon to ensure consistent spark energy for optimum combustion.

The Infinity ECU makes state-of-the-art ECU technology affordable for both professional teams and amateur racers. Built around a latest-generation 32 bit floating point 200MHz automotive processor and Real Time Operating System (RTOS), the Infinity is capable of processing 400 MIPS (millions of instructions per second). To our knowledge, the Infinity ECU currently has the fastest processing speed of any aftermarket Motorsports ECU available. This processing speed combined with a RTOS provides more accurate ignition timing for increased power, more responsiveness to truly custom tailor the driving experience to the driver, allows the Infinity to perform more computational features without a sacrifice in processing performance, and enables tuning of features and sub strategies without affecting other features and sub strategies. It allows you to do more, faster, in a more stable programming environment.
