When the emotional, mental,andphysical bodies arebalanced andinharmony with eachother,youhavean animalin an enhancedstate of wellbeing.
Reiki: Helping Animals Be Healthier

betweenthehealthofthebody,mind,andspirit. Reikifulfillstheneedtoaddressthemindandspirit,while veterinarycarefulfillstheimmediateneedsofthephysicalbody. Reikicanalsoamplifythehealingaffectsof

Theword “Reiki”meansspirituallyguided energy. Thereforethisenergy hasan intelligence thatwilldirecttheenergytoflow whereneeded,andyoudonotneedtoknow aboutanyphysical anatomy. YouaresimplyachannelfortheenergytoflowfromtheUniversetothesubject. Atnotimedoyou
useyourownenergy. Infact,asachannelforReiki,youalsopersonallyreceivethe healing benefit of the Reikienergy.
WhensendingReikitoanimalsyoudoneedtobeawareofanimalbodylanguage. Manyanimalswillgravitatetowardsyou,knowingthatyouhaveahealingenergy about you. But,youmayfindsomeanimalswhomhavebeenabusedandabandoned,may beresistiveorhesitantatfirst. Animalswhoareinpain–potentiallyphysical,mental, oremotionalpain -maynot want youtotouchthem. Thesesensitivitiesarenota problemsinceReikicanbesentfromadistance,whether afootawayfromthe animal, or across the world.
Youwillfindthatanimalswillrespondinavarietyofways. Somemaycomeuptoyouandpresenttheareaof thebodywheretheydesireyouto placeyour hands. Someanimals maybeverysensitivetotheenergy,sothey mayliedownafootorsofromyou,andyouwillfeelthempulltheenergyfromthere. Some may walkawayafter afewseconds,butthencomebackafewminuteslater,andstayalittlelonger. Thentherearethoseanimals who will wanttocomfortably lieinyourarmsandabsorballthe Reikienergytheycanpossibly get. Your experiencewill bedifferent witheach animal, as each animal is unique.
Reiki,bynatureofitsintelligenceandsource,candonoharm. TheonlyrequirementtosendReikiistofirst receive permission from the animal.
Reiki During An Illness
AnimalshaveAuras,ChakrasandMeridians,justlikehumans. Whenthereisanillnessorinjurytothephysical body, thereis also a blockage somewherein the energetic system ofthe chakras,meridians or auric fields.
Whatcausesthisblockage? Mosttimesitisanemotionaltraumathatisheldwithin the body down to the cellular level. Then there are environmental and genetic issues, or miasmas,that causeillness.
Traditional orallopathicveterinarycare willfocus on the physicalsymptoms, butitoftendoesnotaddressthecore issue. Whenyoudonotaddressthecoreissueyouwillnot
see a healing, and thecondition may linger chronically, or return.
Reikiwillworkatthedeeperleveloftheemotionalissueormiasmas,andpenetrateto thecoreissue,creating shiftsand bringingaboutresolution. The bodywillbe supported to balance itself energetically, (which becomes a mentalor emotional healing).
Asmentionedbefore,whenyoubalancethebodyenergetically,ittransformstoaplace where it beginsand supports its own physical healing.
Giving Reiki During an Injury
Therehavebeendocumentedincidentswhereahuman oranimal broketheir legorhad someother physical injury, Reiki or someother energy healing wasperformedwith them, and there was then a miraculous healing.
Withthatsaid,Iwanttostressthatshouldaninjuryoccurthatwould necessitatemedicaltreatment,immediate medicaltreatmentshouldbethefirstcourseofaction. Fromthatpoint,whilebeingtreated medically,theanimal can receiveReiki.
TheReikienergywillsupportthehealingprocess. Reikialsohelpstomitigate thesideeffectsofmedicineoranesthesia. Itwillhelptheanimaltorelax,as well as helpto alleviatethe pain.
Onethingtorememberisthatenergetichealingdoesnotnecessarilymean a curefromthephysicalailment/injury. AfewReikisessionscanhelpananimal recoveraftersurgerywithinanotablyshorterperiodoftime. Someanimalsmay
experienceahealingafteronetreatment,othersmayrequiremonthsoftreatment.Italldependsonthe individualanimal. Animalswhohavesufferedabusemaybesotraumatized,thatitmaytakemanymore
sessions.
Stressful Situations
Animalsarecreaturesofhabit,andwhenwedisrupttheirroutineitcanbeverystressful. Animalsalsopickup and often absorb our stress, muchto their detriment.
When you come homefroma stressfuldayat work andseethatwaggingtailandbundle offurgivingyoujoyous kissesofwelcome,doyounotfindyourstresshasdissipated? Butyourlittleanimalfriendmayhavejust absorbedallyourfrustration andanger, andtheydonot havethemeanstoeasilyreleasethese sticky and heavy energies from their bodies.
ThisiswheregivingthemReikiEnergytoreleasetheemotionaltoxinsfromtheir bodyis oneof the mostloving actsyou can dofor your animal.
Whetheritischanges inyourjob,afamily membermovingaway ordying,or experiencingdivorce within thefamily,these changes canbring aboutstress and depression. These stresses to your companion should be addressed in a timely manner,or youmay findyour animalcompanion becoming physically or emotionally ill.
Other examplesof stressful situations: a new baby, addition of another animal, or a changeof diet.
Emotional Trauma
Animalsdesiretohelp,andmayrespondstronglyinsupport wheneveroneoftheirhumanfamilymembers becomes seriouslyill. They maytakeontheenergy ofthe illnessinanefforttohealtheirperson. Thesameis true if a fellow animal becomes ill. If this illness then leads to the death of the person/animal, the grief can then transform further to depression.
Reiki can support an animal who is dealing with the emotional traumas, and bringcomfort to theirheart.
Animals whom have to be relinquished due to changes in the human companion’s life can experience tremendous
stress. Theanimalmaynotunderstandwhatis
happening. Alltheyknow isthattheynolonger havetheirhomeand theirfamily. Shiftingthem from a stable home to a foster home or a shelter is verystressful,andcanquickly resultinbehavioral problems.
Reikicanhelptheanimalbegintoadjusttothechanges. Theanimalmaystillfeel sadness,buthe willbeableto moveonmorecomfortably,andremainopen toother opportunities for happiness.
Asananimalnearstransition duetoillness, physicaltrauma, orage,Reikinot only helpstheanimaltoremaincalm,buthelpshishumanandanimalfamily aswell. Reiki caneaseanypainandfear. Therearetimeswhenananimalwillrefusetodie,
despite their discomfort. The animal may choose to hold onfor the benefit of its human family.
Reiki will often help support the family in coming to terms with allowing the animal to cross over, giving the animal the permission they need to hear so they can leave peacefully.
