Avon North boys track team lost to a very good Chapel Hill team Tuesday night. First place finishers consisted of Jarrett Stephen in the 100, Dalton Newbold tying Brennan Moran for school record in high jump, Edwin Molina in the 800, and the boys 4x100 team of Ben Bradley, Josh Bowman, Caleb Mosteller, and Jarret Stephen. Boys return home Thursday night vs. Brownsburg East.

The Lady Oriole Track & Field team won again last night against Chapel Hill, 72-42. Taking first place honors Sidney Jones in the long jump, Hannah Hoskins in the 100 hurdles, Shayla Potter-Upshaw in the 100, 200, and 400. Breaking her 100m record with a 12.9 and her 400 record with a 1:02.91. All three relay teams won-3200 relay included Ella Wolfinbarger, Lacey Carter, Jennifer Springer, Gurjit Mahli; 1600 relay made up of Maddie Newport, Jennifer Springer, Maya Votapek, Michelle Brownlee; and the 400 relay which included Haley Stoutamyer, Kylee Keller, Maddie Newport, and Sidney Jones. For long distance Maya Abramson finished first in the 800 and Gurjit first in the 2400. Keep up the great work ladies!!"

Last night the boys golf team was defeated by Zionsville West by a score of 202-224 in a 9 hole match. Leading your orioles was CJ Rosengarten with a 50, followed by Anthony Costello with a 53. Rounding out the top 4 scorers was Joel Moss with a 60 and Joseph Romero with a 64. The boys will travel to Zionsville Golf Club on Thursday to take on Zionsville Middle School.

Attention North Readers….The Hoosier book votes have been counted and the North winner is Unbreakable and The Impossible Knife of Memory took second place. The statewide winner will be announced in late May. It’s not too late to read the winners or any of the other great titles.

Mrs. Hicks’ 7th grade FACS classes are meeting in the computer lab today. Mrs. Hicks’ 7th grade periods 1, 2, 6 7 are meeting in C129 today. Please bring a pencil and don’t be late!

Any band student wishing to order a new Avon Performing Arts polo shirt needs to have the money and the form turned in by Wednesday, April 27th
