WARRANTY
- Warranty terms
GN Roy offers on newcircular felling head saws, a full manufacturer’s warranty of twelve (12) months or two thousand (2000) hours’ use, whichever occurs first. Warranty term starts on delivery date.
- Warranty registration
To qualify for warranty repairs, a warranty registration certificate (see appendix 1) must be completed in and signed by the buyer upon taking delivery of the felling head saw. The buyer retains the original copy of the certificate; and the distributor must send one copy to GN ROY within ten (10) business days, the last copy should be filed and kept at the distributor.
- Parts not covered by warranty
1-Current consumables parts: oil, grease, saw teeth, saw, saw teeth retaining segments, tree holding plate, elastics, bolts, nuts washers, bearings, anti-waves, hoses, unions, swivels adapters, accessory parts, such as, saw protector guard and other normal wear parts; fair wear and tear parts.
2-Replaced parts: replaced or repaired part is warranted only for the residual warranty of the equipment;
3-Transporting fees back/forth of equipment or part of the equipment;
4-Time loss, direct or indirect loss of income that occurs because of failed equipment;
5-Damage caused by use or maintenance not in conformity with GN maintenance manual;
6-Repairs, changes or other executed or ordered work by the buyer, administration fees or indirect costs;
7-Equipment or parts of equipment not manufactured by GN Roy.
- Delay
The buyer must advise in writing, either to the distributor or GN Roy, every defect or failure of the equipment, within ten (10) days of the occurrence.
The distributor must immediately advise GN Royof the failure, either by fax or phone.
The distributor will complete and sign if needed, the Warranty Claim Form within a maximum delay of thirty (30) days following the repair.
Note: any defective part must be kept for further inspection. At the request of GN Roy defective parts must be returned for inspection. If the distributor or client does not return the part(s) within thirty (30) days, GN Roy may exercise its’ right to cancel the whole concerned warranty claim.
- Other circumstances not covered by warranty
a)Damaged products caused by shipping or storage;
b)Abuse, bad care, accidents, robbery or fire;
c)Property transfers must be reported and authorised by GN Roy;
d)Damage caused by defective hydraulic system including but not limited to plumbing;
e)Motors, valves or computer opened without GN Roy Inc.’s consent;
f)Serialized Parts with serial numbers missing or altered.

- Admissibility
Warranty registering certificate signed by buyer must be in GN Roy Inc.’s office files.
The distributor has thirty (30) days following the repair to send GN a warranty claim. (APPENDIX 2)
On GN Roy’s request, distributor will send defect parts, transportation prepaid. If the parts are not sent within the thirty (30) days delay allowed, GN Roy inc. will have the right to cancel concerned warranty claim.
- Reimbursement chart
a)Parts
All parts for which GN Roy Inc. have approved the reimbursement by warranty will be reimbursed by the following procedure:
According to the retail price.
Note: Replaced or repaired part will be on warranty for as long as the residual warranty of the product it is installed on is still in process.
b)Labour
Time allowed for repair is based on our standard reparation time chart, (appendix 2). If the repair is not mentioned on the Appendix 2, reimbursement will be given following an estimated time established by GN Roy Inc. Warranty Department. In the case were the distributor must totally or partially sublet a contractor to perform the repair, a written estimate must be submitted to GN Roy before proceeding. The hourly rate reimbursed will be 55.00$/hour.
c)Travelling time and kilometres
Travelling time will be reimbursed at the hourly rate of 55.00$/hour including kilometres. A six (6) hours maximum, return trip will be paid, without counting the number of products or problems that there are. Travelling time will be allowed only one time, that being for the first claim, even if there are more than one service calls for the same problem.

- Stock product warranty policy
The distributor is the only responsible party for any broken or lost inventory parts that might occur and will take necessary precautions for properly storage. If, during stocking period, a claim is judged necessary, it will not be accepted unless a fabrication defect is detected, but no protection defect claim will be considered.
- Demo or location warranty policy
We recognise demonstrations are sometimes necessary for promoting sales. Distributor must insure that the designated product for demonstration is in perfect working order. All inspection forms must be sent to GN Roy as stipulated above.
A product used for demonstrations for less than fifty (50) hours is considered new for warranty validation.
For a product that has been used over fifty (50) hours for demonstration, the warranty validation will take in consideration the accumulated hours on the stipulated product.
For location products, our standard warranty policy is applicable.
