American Royal Hereford Show Champions Selected
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Purple Mercy Me 10B ET and TFR KU Roll the Dice 1326 won the grand champion titles at the 2015 American Royal National Hereford Show on Nov. 1 in Kansas City, Mo.
Judge Dan Shike, Urbana, Ill.,sorted the 147-head open show and complimented exhibitors on the quality of entries.
In the female show, grand and champion junior yearling female honors went to Purple Mercy Me 10B ET, owned by Kagney and Korbin Collins, Flanagan, Ill. She is a Jan. 23, 2014, daughter of CRR 719 Catapult 109.
Reserve grand and champion spring yearling female honors were awarded to Rylee Barber, Channing, Texas, with BR Audrey 4075 ET.The April 12, 2014,heiferis sired by C Thriller ET.
Grand and champion senior bull honors went to Turkey Feather Ranch, Ada, Okla.; MG3 Cattle Co., O’Keene, Okla.; Hoffman Herefords, Thedford, Neb.; and P&R Herefords, Leedey, Okla.,with TFR KU Roll the Dice 1326. The Dec. 5, 2013, bull is sired by STAR TCF Lock-N-Load 300W ET.
Reserve grand and senior bull honors went to Barber Ranch, Rylee and Bryden Barber, Channing, Texas, and Hirschfeld Group, Galesburg, Ill., with BR Nitro Aventus 3116 ET. He is a Sept. 19, 2013, son of UPS TCC Nitro 1ET.
Following the selection of the champions, Purple Reign Cattle Co., Toulon, Ill., won premier breeder. Premier exhibitor went to Rylee Barber. First place get-of-sire went to Jaye and Sue Decker, La Plata, N.M., with a group sired by Churchill Red Bull. Best six head honors went to Avery Nichols, Alton, Kan.
