9th grade American history chapter 7 test options:

1.  Write an essay:

Describe 3 of the battles that took place during the American Revolution (found in chapter 8):

  • You must include:

o  The Name of the Battle

o  Who won

o  Who was involved

o  Why it was significant

·  If you choose the essay option please type or neatly print your answer.

·  It must be at least one and a half pages typed, double spaced, 12 point font

·  If you do not have access to a computer it must be neatly hand written and approximately two and a half pages long.

·  I want your essay to be at least 5 paragraphs, including 1 introductory paragraph, 3 body paragraphs, and 1 conclusion paragraph.

Your essay will be graded and hold the same weight as a test, 100 points. Please use this check list to help ensure that you have met all requirements.

  • Do you have an understanding of the material?
  • Is it at least the required length and format?
  • Did you include facts?
  • Does your answer make sense?
  • Were you detailed in giving you answer?
  • Did you explain the points I listed?
  • If you used an external source, did you cite it?
