Purpose Statement: Amarillo College Massage Therapy Program will provide an educational environment that will encourage active learning and participation as well as develop creativity within the student population. The program is devoted to creating understanding of professional massage in the community while itself practicing self-evaluation to insure the needs of the student, healthcare community and the public are being met. Self-evaluation will provide a path for continual growth and thereby insure program renewal.

Goal #1:Graduates will achieve sufficient knowledge and skillfor entry level Massage Therapy positions upon graduation in a variety of environmentsand professional settings.

Students will demonstrate critical thinking skills
to select appropriate body work techniques. / PLO #2:
Students will construct verbal skills to formulate justification for the selected body work techniques. / PLO #3:
Students will recognize variations in populations to differentiate body work techniques required for the population.
