Camp HooverSite Checklist
Upon arrival, use the checklist below to help guarantee your site was prepared for you. If there are any issues, please contact the Camp ranger. At the end of your stay, use the checklist to guarantee that you will leave your site neater than you found it.
Leave this form in the kitchen or program shelter of your site for the Camp Ranger to pick up. The self checkout process is in place. All campers should follow the checklist to maintain a clean facility. Please go over the checkout procedure wiht the Camp Ranger during your stay. If you have any questions, ask.
Check-in / Check-out / RangerEVERYONE / Pick up all litter in and around your facility.
Recyclables – in blue bins located around camp.
Dispose of all charts, decorations, paper bags, boxes, food, etc.
Collect wood for woodpile.
Clean all equipment and put it away.
TENT UNIT / Make certain that your fires are out and fire circles are tidy. Spread cold ashes throughout the woods (not in piles) or dispose of in black garbage bags. Ashes are cold when you can hold them in your hands.
Sweep out tents, counselor cabin, program shelter, and cindy. Wash program shelter and cindy floor- throw several buckets of water down on floor and sweep out.
Empty and clean refrigerator, turn off lights, and leave door open. Wipe down shelves.
Clean out sinks, toilets, close toilet seats, leave paper, and check faucets.
Five beds, mattresses and orange crates in tents.
Tie garbage bags (use ½ bow knot) and leave in garbage pails inside program shelter.
Tie down the side and black flaps on all tents. Use ½ bow knot.
DO NOT TIE FRONT FLAPS
CABINS / Make certain that your fires are out and fire circles are tidy. Spread cold ashes throughout the woods (not in piles) or dispose of in black garbage bags. Ashes are cold when you can hold them in your hands.
Clean and put all dishes away.
Clean stove and oven. Empty and clean refrigerator, turn off lights and leave door open. Wipe down shelves.
Clean out sinks, toilets, close toilet seats and leave paper. Double check faucets in the kitchen, bathroom and showers. Are they off?
Leave blinds on staff cabin in DOWN position
Six beds, mattresses, and orange crates in counselor cabin.

Stack tables, benches, and chairs away from baseboard heaters.
Tie garbage bags in ½ bow knot and leave in cans inside building.
Sweep and wet mop all floors in all buildings. Use a well-squeezed out damp mop on wood floors.
Hang mops outside of buildings on hooks.
Close and lock windows.
Return and store outdoor equipment, brooms, mops pails, etc
Inside building, make sure lights are off and doors are open when you leave.
VALHALLA & MISTY KNOLL / Make certain that your fires are out and fire circles are tidy. Spread cold ashes throughout the woods (not in piles) or dispose of in black garbage bags. Ashes are cold when you can hold them in your hands.
Sweep shelter and bathroom, clean sink and toilet seats, leave toilet paper and check faucets.
Tie garbage in bags (use ½ bow knot) and leave in garbage cans.
Sweep and fold borrowed tents and place in shelter. Caretaker will pick these up. Wet tents should be hung over rafter to dry.
OTHER / TOWNLEY HALL – Put all equipment away neatly, sweep floors, wipe down counters, straighten the porch area, clean bathroom and clean fireplace if needed.
CREATION STUDIO – Put all equipment away, put benches on top of tables, tie trash and place near door, sweep and mop floors.
SPORTS FIELD- Place all equipment in the shed neatly, leave field neat and tie trash and leave in garbage can.
