AMANDA LANDES ADKINS

Biography

Amanda Adkins has had a diverse career in both policy and politics having held senior posts on key leadership committees. In late 2004, she joined Cerner Corporation, a leading supplier of healthcare information technology, as the director of government and industry.

Before joining Cerner, Amanda Adkins was the campaign manager for U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS), who won his re-election in 2004 with 70 percent of the vote. Prior to returning to Kansas to work for the Brownback campaign, Adkins served as the interim executive director and national political director for GOPAC, a prominent Republican leadership organization since the late 1970s. She also spent several years on Capitol Hill as professional staff on the U.S. House Rules Committee; legislative director to Congressman David Dreier (R-CA); staff coordinator for the California Republican Congressional delegation; and a legislative aide to Sen. Brownback.

In 2004, the federal government continued its call for the use of information technology to increase patient safety and overall efficiency in the healthcare system. In support of the vision that most Americans should have electronic health records, Adkins is responsible for advancing Cerner healthcare initiatives in government, industry and community relations. Cerner continues to amplify its government and industry presence with its proactive development of solutions that fundamentally change the delivery of healthcare.
