Meeting Minutes – November 2nd, 2016
Meeting Highlights:
1.) Meeting Called to order:
The Club’s November Meeting was held at Sparky’s in Whitney Point.
It was called to order at 7:25 pm by President Judi Whittaker.
2.) Secretary’s Report – Joel Munson – October’s Meeting minutes were passed around for review.
a. A motion was made to accept the Meeting Minutes by Lou Bailey
b. It was seconded by Josh Braman
c. There was no discussion.
d. A vote was called and the motion passed.
3.) Treasurer’s Report – Mike Blance/Judi Whittaker/Joel Munson - (General Fund, Building Fund, Groomer Fund) Joel Munson gave the following treasurer’s report:
a. A motion was made to accept by Josh Braman
b. It was seconded by Ryan Johnson

4.) NYSSA Report – Judi Whittaker – wasn’t able to attend the meeting
a. The Sportsman’s bill is being discussed in the State Legislature again. This would allow sportsman who hunt, to use snowmobiles without registering them. NYSSA is against this proposal
b. Tax relief for landowners who allow snowmobile trails on their land is also being discussed.
c. As of 6/1/2016, all GPS data must be newer than 2010
d. The 2015 NYSSA forum will be held on April 27-30, 2017
e. Date for Take a Friend Snowmobiling will be 2/18/2016, Josh to contact Tom Hurd to confirm.
5.) CCSF Report – Eric Johnson
a. CCSF elected Dave Norton President
6.) Map Project is on Hold!
7.) Events Report
a. Take a friend snowmobiling event will be held on February 18th, 2017.
b. NYS Snowmobile Safety Class sponsored by SSR Powersports to be held on Dec. 10th, 2016 at the Castle Creek Fire Department in Castle Creek. Please contact SSR at (607)648-4172 to register. The class runs from 8 am to 4:30pm.
c. NYS Snowmobile Safety Class, Sponsored the Ridge Riders will be held on 1/14/2016, at the Castle Creek Fire hall. Contact Judy Whittaker at (607)761-7903 to register.
8.) Old Business (Action Items/Open Issues from last meeting
a. Building Committee Report/Presentation, Chairman: Marty
Brown.
- Judi is getting prices from Robinson Design for a sign on the front of the groomer barn
- Marty Brown is contacting Scott Freeman about Land Plan
- Judi has completed getting our Adopt a Natural Resource process, and it was successful
b. Club Merchandise – Sue Marsh
Ridge Rider logo wear with the new logo is available for sale. Please contact Sue.
c. Landowner Update (Mike Blance, Judi Whittaker) – No update
d. Membership Report – Sue Marsh

e. BOD meeting
A BOD meeting was be held on October 19th, 7 at Whittaker’s barn. Discussions covered club assets, trail work, and future direction of the club.

- We need a club member to set up and lead this effort

h. Youth Safety Classes – 2 scheduled

9.) Grooming/Equipment Report: Marty Brown – Did not attend

10.) NEW Business:
a. Club needs a second trailer and it needs to be bigger than the one we now have - hold.
b. Marty to buy 2 gallons of sign post paint
11.) Trail Captains Reports – 16-17 Season
Trails issues: None at this time.
Stan Maslin is the new NYS DOT Contact.
All Trail Captains are asked to start work on a 2 year plan for their trails. What work needs to be done to maintain present trails, what needs to be done to improve trails, and what changes need to be made.
Hold - Marty is investigating having the Ridge Riders have their own grooming course
AI 13-02-03: Joel to work on getting records and consolidating equipment at grooming barn. - Perry has submitted Sure-trak Records no update
All hours worked have to be put in the state system within 60 days of occurrence. Otherwise, they will not be allowed.
IN GENERAL, Make sure all work parties have the permission of the landowners.

b. Ned Sturdevant’s Area (North Central) (Trail Captain Replacement needed) - Several Bridge Projects need to be completed. Some need to be replaced, some need redecking, and some need cleaning. Nelson Creek, Page Brook, Decker, Tarbel, Marty to review.

12.) NYSSA’s Super Raffle Tickets 2017 are not available, yet.
