Through Checked Baggage Policy
To align American Airlines with our oneworld® partners and to reduce baggage mishandlings, we will now only through check baggage to a customer’s final destination when all the tickets are in the same Passenger Name Record (PNR) and customers are travelling on oneworld airlines and affiliates.
Through check-in will be honoured when:
- All tickets issued are issued in the same PNR
- All tickets are for travel between the following carriers:
- American Airlines and American Eagle
- oneworld airlines and affiliates
American Airlines will no longer through check bags to the customer’s final destination when the customer is holding separate tickets issued in separate PNRs, regardless of whichoneworld carrier(s) they are connecting to.
