Always treat others as you would like to be treated—WITH RESPECT!
ALLWestern rules will be abided by; otherwise, chaos rules and nothing gets accomplished.
Every action has a greater or equal reaction (Physics)!
Translation—Everything you do has an affect on your or someone around you.
Remember—Think 1st before you act!
Your brain functions in a logical and efficient manner, just as you will in this classroom. Desks will be neat. Chairs pushed under when not in your seat. Notebooks will be neat and organized for a grade.
This course is a representation of the Business World. Therefore, it will be conducted in a business-like professional manner.
Mrs. Ward dismisses the class not the bell. You will be given enough time to arrange and organize your materials before the bell rings.
Disclosure Statement: As in any business, there is a final decision-maker. In this course, Mrs. Ward has the final decision on determining whether or not a behavior is appropriate.
….Grading Scale….Grading Scale….Grading Scale….
Grading Scale: / ScaleDaily Work (Classwork and Homework) / 50%
Quizzes (brief… given during unit) / 15%
Tests (WHOLE Unit) / 35%
Notebookswill be maintained in a neat and organized manner for a “test” grade. Notebooks will be collected four times during the semester and at the final exam. Collection/Grading dates will be announced giving the students at least one weeks notice. Notebooks are to be at least 1 ½ inch 3 ring binder to be used solely for this course. We will organize the notebooks in class prior to the collection day. Notebooks are needed for several reasons: (1) it helps students who do not test well to have one test grade that is an ‘A’; (2) it teaches organization skills; and (3) this course is an EOC course. EOC means that what we do ALLSemester will be on the final exam for 25% of the whole grade. The State of NC will make and score the final exam not the teacher.
Homework will be given to reinforce classroom discussion or to preview new material. Homework will always be graded. So I expect everyone to TRY!
Reflection (looking back) is the only way to assess true understanding. Therefore, ALL tests will be corrected using notes and resubmitted!
Test days will TRY to be Tuesdays and/or Thursdays! Pop quizzes, Interim tests and Units tests Count! I will try to schedule tests on these days to limit the number of students taking 3 tests in one day.
AfterSchool Tutoring is available every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15until 4:30!
