Lucas Fulton Henry Co. House League G12 Softball Rules

All Divisions are governed by ASA rules except the following

  1. Mercy rule is 15 runs after 4 innings, 12 runs after 5, and 10 runs after 6 innings.
  2. The OHSAA step back rule is allowed.
  3. There is a 1 3/4 hr. time limit on games, and no inning will start after that. Head umpire has official start time.
  4. There shall be no automatic out declared if a position cannot be filled up to 8 players.
  5. Teams will not be penalized for an injury. No automatic out if player cannot continue to play. Last out can courtesy run for injured player.
  6. 7 inning games.
  7. Infield fly rule will be called.
  8. International tiebreaker will be used if there is a tie after 7th inning or 1 ¾ hr. time limit.

Rules

1.  For safety reason, metal cleats are NOT allowed.

2.  6 runs per inning; no catch-up rule.

3.  Runner can advance to 2nd on a walk.

4.  No over throw rule on stealing. (Runner can go until time is called and pitcher has ball in circle.)

5.  Players may be brought up only from the G10 division to fill in. Especially in league tournament. No exceptions.

6.  Base runners can leave once the ball is released from the pitcher’s hand.

7.  Stealing home is allowed with the mandatory slide rule if there is a play.

8.  Batter can hit from either side of plate as long as they do not delay the game by switching sides while the pitcher is ready to pitch. If the batter does, she will be automatically out.

9.  No taunting or name-calling will be tolerated. One warning per team; second offense will result in forfeit. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated by players, coaches, or parents. Umpire has final say.

10.  Teams that are short players MAY NOT use girls from other teams in the same age division. They MUST use a player from a lower age group. NO EXCEPTIONS!

11.  Courtesy runners for Catchers are allowed. The runner will be the last out.

12.  Everyone Bats with free substitutions in field.

**PENALTY: No throwing bat. One warning per player. A second offense by the same player will result in ejection from that game. This player is NOT automatically out.

***PENALTY: If runner leaves early, no pitch is called, and runner is out.

****PENALTY: Base runner must commit to either steal or go back to base before pitcher is in circle. If they hesitate or delay, the runner will be called out.

Bases= 60’ Pitcher’s mound= 40’ with 8’ radius circle
