Algeria is number 100 for LIQUI MOLY

The German motor oil manufacturer continues to grow and now exports to more than 100 countries

Ulm, September 2011 – Motor oils and additives of the German manufacturer LIQUI MOLY are available in an increasing number of countries. With Algeria, LIQUI MOLY has now passed the 100 export nation mark. "That is another step on our road to becoming a global brand", said Gerhard Riedmüller, Export Manager at LIQUI MOLY.

The first goods have already been shipped to Algeria. "The country is not just the geographically largest country in Africa; it is also very promising in economic terms", according to Riedmüller. "However, the decisive factor was that we found a strong partner on location in Zaïm Bouslama from EURL Bouslama in Constantine." Like in most other countries, LIQUI MOLY does not maintain its own subsidiary in Algeria, but instead works together with national importers.

"Drivers in Algeria are already waiting for LIQUI MOLY", said Zaïm Bouslama. The hot climate and the poorer fuel quality in comparison to Europe place higher demands on motor oil. "People here are longing for high quality motor oil. They are quite prepared to pay more money for better performance and greater protection – ultimately there is no better way to save money than to avoid motor damage", according to Bouslama.

Particularly in the case of poor fuel quality, motor damage can also occur as a result of deposits that solidify on injection nozzles and in the combustion chamber, which reduce performance and increase fuel consumption and wear. This is where additives from LIQUI MOLY can help. They are simply poured into the tank and clean the motor as soon as it starts running. Like the motor oils, LIQUI MOLY also produces the additives exclusively in Germany. A few months ago the readers of two automotive magazines chose LIQUI MOLY as their most popular oil brand. "Made in Germany is a promise of quality that is also valid in Algeria", Bouslama explained. In coming weeks he will be concentrating on organizing distribution so that the products will be available throughout the country.

In the neighboring country of Morocco, LIQUI MOLY has already long been on the market. "Business there is very good", says Riedmüller. "We want to build on this success in Algeria."We anticipate turnover of €1 million in three years in Algeria." After Algeria, sights are already being set on New Zealand and Egypt as the next countries.

In 2010 LIQUI MOLY achieved a turnover of €289 million. Around 40 percent of this is due to export business. The most important export nation is Russia, followed by Ukraine, the USA and China. Export business is becoming increasingly important, as the home market of Germany is for the most part saturated. "In contrast, we see great potential in other countries", Riedmüller explained. "There we want to head to where we already are in Germany: at the top."
