TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE:There will be two pools of six teams, seeded by zone according to ASAA provincial results over the last five years. All games including playoffs are a best of three. The top team in each pool will receive a bye to the semi-finals while second and third place teams in each pool will cross over and play a quarter final playoff.

COACH’S MEETING:The coaches meeting will be on Thursday, November 27th at 8:30 a.m. The meeting will be held at PRHS in room 137. Any questions will be answered at this time. The head official will be in attendance. Coach’s packages will be picked up at this time.
**Please bring a single cheque for the entry fee and banquet tickets.
TEAM ROSTERS:Rosters and Team picture must be submitted using the online registration tool, by Monday, November 24, 2008 by 12:00noon. It is extremely important to have this information in Monday if you wish to have your team listed in the official program! Registration will all be done online on the host website by clicking the Registration link. There are four forms to complete: Team Roster, Team History, Team Photo and Team Order Form. Instructions for these forms are on the website. Picture must be high quality (minimum 7 megapixel, with no digital zoom in .jpg format.)
TIE BREAKING PROCEDURE:As per ASAA rules as laid out in the ASAA 2008-2009 Handbook.
TEAM REQUIREMENTSEach team is responsible for their own clearly markedwarm up balls.
CHANGE ROOMS:At PRHS and TAN, a classroom will be available for teams 45 minutes
prior to their game. Then teams are to use the change rooms after their match Teams will share common change rooms @ Glenmary. Please do NOT leave valuables in the change rooms.
Coaches are reminded that they are responsible for their team’s behavior on and off the court in the school. Please, no warming up in the hallways and classrooms.
CONCESSION:There will be a concession at Peace RiverHighSchool and Glenmary (T.A. Norris is next door to Glenmary) and they have hot food, water, powerade, and light snacks.
LOCAL RULES:Coaches are asked to inform their players of the following:
1. The schools are not responsible for any lost articles. Please inform your players that in order to safeguard valuables they must be given to the coach or other reliable person or locked in your change room.
2. Athletes are to be in designated areas only as regular classes will be ongoing at all schools on Thursday and Friday.
OFFICIALS:Carded up and down officials, three score keepers and we will be using a 3-ball system at each court.
ENTRY FEE:Entry fee for this year’s tournament will be $250.00 per team.

COACHES' LOUNGE:Food and beverages will be available, free of charge, for coaches and officials in the Staff Room at each school.
ACCOMMODATIONS:All teams are responsible for making their own reservations. Several options are available. Please contact Jenny VanKempen @ for more information regarding hotels.
PLAYERS AREA:Each school has a Student Gathering Area next to their respective gymnasiums that can be utilized by team members. Do not use volleyballs anywhere in the school.
CHAMPIONSHIP BANQUET:The banquet will be held THURSDAY EVENING at 7:00 PM (doors open at 6:45. We are preparing for 15 official members per team. The entertainment for the banquet will include a hypnotist. Please come prepared to participate and have some fun! Banquet tickets are ordered on the team order form.
Remember, each team is required to attend. The cost is $25 per person. Please fax a copy of your chequefor registration and banquet tickets by noon Monday, November 24th(one cheque for both that is to be brought to the coaches meeting.)
HOSTS:Hosts will be assigned to each team to help make your stay in Peace River an enjoyable one. If you have any questions or problems, they will be more than willing to assist you or find a person that can!
SOUVENIRS:“Gimmics” (official ASAA supplier) will be on site providing various types of apparel. There is an online pre-order form that we recommend to teams as time will be limited for teams to buy their apparel. They will be set up in the Band Room at Peace River High School.
Teams are NOT required to bring pins for exchange. If teams wish to exchange or give items they may do so if they want. This should take place at the banquet, not before the matches.

ACTION PHOTOS:Pictures will be taken at T.A. Norris in the Band Room. Digital photos will be taken throughout the tournament.
OPENING CEREMONIES:OPENING CEREMONIES ARE MANDATORY. All teams should be in uniform for Thursday’s opening ceremonies at PRHS, by 8:55am. Teams will meet in the gymnasium and are asked to line up in rows with their host who will have a large sign with their team name on it. The Parade of Athletes will begin at approximately 9:15 am.
AWARDS CEREMONIES:Medal presentations will be made immediately following the respective matches.
ADMISSION/PROGRAMS:The admission for the tournament will be $5 per day or $10 for the weekend. Programs will be sold at the front gate for $3.
PRACTICE TIMES:Practice times will be available Wednesday November 26. They will be booked in one hour blocks Wednesday 4:00-9:00 pm on a first come first served basis. Email Jenny as soon as you have qualified for provincials to book times . The schedule will be posted on the website.
SPORTSMANSHIP:An observing Sportsmanship committee consisting of School Staff and Parents will award sportsmanship pins throughout the tournament. The Provincial Sportsmanship Banner will be determined by sportsmanship committee tally, and will be presented along with a sportsmanship plaque in a ceremony at the selected school at a later date.
