Major Pete Tortorici is an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies at Air Force ROTC Detachment 765 located at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. He currently teaches the senior-level curriculum, where his experiences as an Intelligence Officer helps prepare future officers for the National Security issues they will face throughout their careers.

Major Tortorici entered the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps in 1992. He graduated from The Citadel in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. After attending the Air Force Officer Intelligence Course he was assigned to Air Force Special Operations Command at Hurlburt Field, Florida as an Intelligence Analyst, and later as the Chief of Intelligence for the 15th Special Operations Squadron.

In the summer of 2001 Major Tortorici moved to the Reserves as an Individual Mobilization Augmentee. He was called back to Active Duty following September 11th, 2001 and has served in that capacity ever since. He was assigned to Charleston Air Force Base as the Intelligence Operations Officer. He was later assigned as the Chief of Intelligence for the 437th Operations Group Special Operation Division. He served as the Intelligence Flight Commander and Senior Intelligence Officer for Charleston Air Force Base. In October 2009, after an assignment at Headquarters Air Mobility Command as a Senior Intelligence Duty Officer at the Tanker Airlift Control Center, Major Tortorici was selected to return to his Alma Mater as an ROTC Instructor.
