Ain’t Nobody Like Mama

Ain't Nobody Like Mama

(John 19:25-27 KJV)

25Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.26When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!27Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

T

his message is aimed directly at our young people. There have been teachers who played the roll of mother in our lives. There have been aunt, and female cousins which have played important position as mother in our lives. Although with their presence and supportthere’s nobody like mother.

A good Mama right now would tell you:

  • Speak up or shut up;
  • Appearance matters;
  • Never marry a man to change him;
  • Stand up straight and clean your finger nails;
  • Eat everything and remember the starving children;
  • Ask for what you want;
  • Don’t advertise what is not for sale;
  • God don’t like ugly, and he don’t like too pretty;
  • Keep your mouth shut and your legs crossed;
  • Don’t do anything mother won’t do.

In fact, sometimes when a child falls, bruises something, makes a mistake or get lost, the first thing they inquire about is "Where is my mama!"

  1. It’s alright to have a good mother, But! I prefer to have a Godly Mother. This is what Mary the mother of Jesus was to Jesus.

How do I know this? Because, Mary surrendered to the sovereign: “An angel appeared to Mary”(Luke 1)

  • What other woman do you know who would receive honor to conceive a child to save the world from its iniquities?
  • What other child do you know whereby an angelic choir would put on a musical, and use the sky as the choir stand and sing a song “unto us a child is born?”
  • What other woman do you know where the child she was carrying was not only her son but also the Father of His own Fetus?

I admire Mary because not one time did Mary say she didn’t want to be the mother of Jesus. She delivered Him in a manger, and later took him to Egypt as requested by God to do so.

  1. Mary surrendered to the sovereign, which made her a Godly mother. But moreover, she strived for security

Mary strived for security: “Mary was returning from the feast of the passover in Jerusalem going back to Nazareth”. (Luke 2)

A whole day passed before she realized her child was not with them, and she panicked!

  • She went to her kinfolk and friends.NOBODY SEEN HIM!!!
  • After 3 days she decided to return to Jerusalemand she found him in church.
  • Jesus was anentrepreneur.(Matthew 13:55)

Now her son is on the cross and Mary can’t do nothing, but stand there and watch her child suffer.
