AiM IQ Reports – User Guide

Section 1: Creating a New Interactive Report

  1. Click Create New on the AiM IQ home screen.
  2. Choose the Interactive Report option.
  3. Choose which Data Source you would like to create your report from. Click OK.

Common data sources include:

AiM: Location – Includes data related to property characteristics and the physical attributes of locations. Does not include occupancy or usage information for locations.

SPACE: Location Occupancy–Includes the physical attributes, as well as occupancy and usage information, related to locations.

  1. In the Data Tab on the left side of the screen:
  2. Optional (but suggested): Click the Settings icon. To limit the query run time through potentially thousands of records set the Row Limit (to 50, 100, etc.) and/or set the Query Timeout (to 30, 60, etc.).
  1. In the General Tab on the left side of the screen:
  1. Option: Click on Page Setup to view options for changing the page orientation (Portrait vs. Landscape), the page format and the margins.
  1. Give the report a title. Double-click on the word “Untitled” on the report. Insert new title. This can be changed.
  1. Click on the Data Tab on the left side of the screen. Note the list of data fields that are available to report on.
  1. Limit the data in the report. To filter to report the data for a single campus:
  2. Click on the Filter icon. Click and drag the Region data field over to the filter. Enter the five digit campus code when prompted. Click OK.
  1. Choose the Groups for your report. In AiM IQ, “groups” refer to the way in which the data is grouped together.
  2. Example: Room data can be grouped by building. Thus, Property is a group. Click and drag the Property data field into the report. When doing so, a horizontal line will appear in the report.
  3. Note: The report can have more than one group. For example, Floor can be added as a group within a property.
  1. Choose the Columns to include in the report. Drag and drop data fields into the report. When doing so, a vertical line will appear in the report.
  1. All data is now in the report. The report may be more than one page. To navigate from page to page, use the Navigation icon.
  1. Apply formatting. Click on the data column that needs to be formatted. Then, click on the Formatting Tab on the left side of the screen. Make changes to the formatting options.
  2. Save the report by clicking the Save As icon.
  3. The report is now saved. To export the report, click on the Export icon.

Section 2: Editing an Interactive Report

  1. Navigate to the report that needs to be edited. From the AiM IQ home screen, select Browse Files. Select the report and click Open.
  2. Click the Edit icon.
  1. Make changes to the report.
  2. Save the report by clicking the Save icon.

Section 3: Creating a New Analysis Report

  1. Click Create New on the AiM IQ home screen.
  2. Choose the Analysis Report option.
  3. Choose which Data Source you would like to create your report from. Click OK.

Common data sources include:

SPACE: Current Location – Includes data related to the physical attributes of locations. Does not include occupancy or usage information for locations.

SPACE: Current Occupancy – Includes the occupancy and usage information related to locations.

  1. On the left side of the screen, note the list of data fields that are available to report on.
  1. Limit the data in the report. To filter to report the data for a single campus:
  2. Click on the Filter icon. Click and drag the Region data field over to the filter. Select the five digit campus code when prompted. Click OK.
  1. Choose the Rows for your report. Click and drag the data field(s) into the report.
  2. Choose the Columns to include in the report. Click and drag data field(s) into the Columns section of the report.
  1. Choose the Measures for the report. Eligible fields have a Measure icon next to them. Click and drag the data field into the report.
  1. Apply formatting. Right click on the row/column/measure headers that need to be formatted.
  2. Save the report by clicking the Save As icon.
  3. The report is now saved. To export the report, click on the Settings icon, and then click Export.

Section 4: Editing an Analysis Report

  1. Navigate to the report that needs to be edited. From the AiM IQ home screen, select Browse Files. Select the report and click Open.
  2. Click the Edit icon.
  1. Make changes to the report.
  2. Save the report by clicking the Save icon.
