Agency Medical Advisor
Family Futures is an adoption and adoption support agency awarded an outstanding rating by OFSTED at our last inspection in 2016. We have a reputation for innovation and offer a high quality service - an integrated multi-disciplinary, assessment, treatment and family-finding service for children who are traumatised or have attachment difficulties.
We are looking to recruit a paediatrician as Agency Medical Advisor to provide consultation to staff and parents and also where appropriate to carry out paediatric assessments. In addition to our adoption/adopter recruitment service, Family Futures has an active caseload of 60 – 70 children receiving an integrated multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment service. This is an interesting population of children who have experienced trauma, neglect and abuse in infancy which has an ongoing developmental impact which needs to be assessed and treated.
The Medical Advisor would also need to sit on our adoption panel as Medical Advisor. We are looking for somebody who is interested in this field of work and who is a registrar or a consultant.
Someone with an interest in the endocrine system, as trauma in infancy appears to dysregulate the system with detrimental effects, would be desirable. This is an emerging area of interest and one that we would like to explore and research.
