Age Group (11 to 14-Year- Old) Selection Process

The 11-12, 13-14 swimmers are selected at the Long Course Championship during the summer. The swimmers will be scored separately from the long course scoring system only counting the swimmers who turn in the application below with a $100 deposit. The deposit and application must be received by July 13, 2016. Mail to Georgia Zone Team C/O Sydney Pepper, 117 Red Branch Drive, Villa Rica, Georgia 30180.

The swimmers winning the 100 meter event will be an automatic choice on the team and will receive a score of 56 points. The remaining swimmers will be scored resuming with 2nd place. Swimmer winning a 100 meter event will continue to be scored in the remainder of the events. In the case that a swimmer wins more than one 100 meter event, the team will be made up of an extra scoring swimmer. After determining the number of 100 meter event winners the remainder of the swimmers will be chosen by their number of point scored until there are eight swimmers. ONLY THE TOP 6 EVENTS FOR EACH SWIMMER WILL COUNT TOWARD ZONE SCORING. These swimmers will be scored using a 10 lane scoring system (11,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1).

In case of a tie for the last position the spot will be determined by the highest place finish(es).

If swimmers do not make the zone team the $100 deposit will be properly destroyed. The selected zone team members will use the deposit toward their payment of the trip which will be $525 this year.

Any Swimmer being removed from Zone consideration on the last day of meet by a coach, swimmer or parent will pay a penalty of an additional $50 plus loss of the $100 deposit.

THE AGE UP DATE FOR THIS MEET IS AUGUST 2, 2016

Any swimmer that ages up between July 14 and August 2, will be scored against the age group they would swim in at zones. Swimmers aging up to 15 during this time should have applied as a senior swimmer prior to April 25, 2016.

SWIMMERS THAT HAVE ACHIEVED A SUMMER JUNIOR NATIONAL TIME STANDARD MORE THAN 10 DAYS FROM THE START OF THE MEET WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE. THAT SWIMMER’S DEPOSIT WILL BE DESTROYED WITH NO PENALTY.
