The Learning Bridge

All clubs meet from 2:30 - 3:30 on given meeting dates. Payments are made directly to The Learning Bridge. The cost for each club ranges from $40 - $55 depending on if there are any extra fees for supplies. All clubs meet for four consecutive weeks. Students must be picked up with a car rider number through the car line or through Learning Bridge. You cannot pick your child up by walking to the office. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe!

The following clubs will begin meeting on Thursdays and each session lasts 4 weeks. The fifth session of clubs for 2016-2017 will meet on February 9, 16, 23, and March 2. Forms due back no later than Tuesday February 7.

Lego Club $40 (Mrs. Chasez-Open to K-5)

Who doesn’t love to play with Legos? Come join Mrs. Chasez for Lego Club where we will become architects and artists. Each week she will give you something fun and different to create using Legos, and at the end of each session everyone will use their individual imaginations to create their own Lego masterpieces. Maximum 25 students, so hurry up and get your registration form and payment in!

Art Club $50 (Mrs. Groover-Open to 1-5)

Come swim with us in underwater art club! We will create a clay octopus, jellyfish paintings and seahorse collages! It is sure to be a splashing good time! Minimum of 10 students and a maximum of 25. Don’t delay; sign up today!

Chess Club $43 (Mrs. Cox-Open to K-5)

Love Chess, never played Chess or just love a good competitive game between some classmates? Well, come hang out with me (Mrs. Cox) for an hour and polish up your Chess skills while having FUN!! Chess is a great game for all ages and levels. Did you know that playing Chess makes kids SMART? Playing develops critical thinking skills, improves memory, improves concentration and builds confidence. Maximum number of participants is 30.

Engineering Club $45 (Mrs. Homer-Open to 2-5)

Students will design and build their own project. They will be working in groups so they will develop collaborative skills, delegation of responsibilities for their project and trouble shoot together. (Projects will be dismantled after club is over as all parts are property of Big Creek and will be used in future engineering clubs). There is a minimum of 10 students and a maximum of 18, so sign up and get payment in today so you don’t miss out!

Mad Scientist Club: $55 (Mrs. Nash Open to 2-5)

Fizz, Pop, Squish. Do you like to know why things are the way they are? Hands-on learning and fun is the basis for this club. Come have some ooey gooey fun with all kinds of science experiments during clubs, but don’t let your family miss out on the fun; recipes and directions will come home each week!

Board Game Mania $40 (Mrs. Bach-Open to 2-5)

Come and play some classic board games and meet new friends! Feel free to bring your favorite game to share with the group. Mrs. Bach will provide her collection to choose from as well. Sure to be a great time! A minimum of 8 students are required for this club to be held.

GIVE: Get Involved, Value Everyone: $55 (Mrs. Peters Open to K-5)

Get Involved Value Everyone- We will work on different activities to benefit local organizations. Some projects that we have completed so far are: care packages for police officers, blankets for firemen, name tags for the NICU at North Forsyth Hospital, and book marks for the nursing home. Join us to continue giving back to the community and putting smiles on people's faces! A minimum of 7 students are required for this club to be held.
Star Wars Club $40 (Mrs. Warstadt-Open to 3-5)

Are you a Jedi, or a Sith? Would your light saber be blue, green, purple or red? Do you think that Luke is Rey’s father? If you know the name of the world’s most famous Wookiee…if you know the difference between Naboo and Tatooine…if you know the difference between an X-wing and a TIE fighter…then this club is for you! Join us on February 9.

Fees and Payment Agreement

The cost of each club is $10.00 per club meeting date (ex. 4 meetings =$40). Some clubs will charge a supply fee or if the club is longer than 4 sessions the cost may be more.

All payments are non-refundable. Please put your child’s name and the club name on your check or cash in a marked envelope. Clubs must have a minimum of eight children. If a club is cancelled due to low participation, your money will be refunded. Pick up time is 3:30pm prompt. Any student not picked up by 3:35pm will come to the front office and the parent will be called. If you do not have a car tag, you must stop by the front office to register for a number. For safety reasons, you must have a car rider number before we can release your child to you.
