Below are general travel advice and information which you may find helpful when planning your trip:
Fan Meeting Point:
·The local Police have advised that if fans wish to gather in Basel City Centre pre match, fans should gather in ‘Barfusserplatz’. Fans will also be gathering in Marktplatz.
There will be big screens showing the match live in both Barfusserplatz and Marktplatz.
- There are lots of bars and restaurants in Barfusserplatz and the transport links are excellent by tram, bus and taxi direct to the stadium. The stadium is 2.5Km from the city centre. Travel is free on public transport on Match day to and from the stadium on production of a match ticket.
·At the Fan meeting point, the FSF will set up a Fan’s Embassy. This is an information and guidance point, offering practical assistance. They will also provide a fanzine. The 24 hour helpline number for fans wanting further advice and assistance is +447956121314

·This is a relatively new stadium which opened in 2001. The capacity for the Swiss Super League is 38,000 but this final and for all European games the capacity is 34,500.

·On arrival there will be additional security and bag checks, so to avoid delay, we recommend that all spectators arrive at the stadium as early as possible. The stadium will open at 17:45 and kick-off will be at 20:45 (local time)

Arriving at the Stadium / At the Match:
From Bafusserplatz and Marktplatz , there is a ten minute walk to the UAG (Tram system) to the stop at Grosspeterstrasse, (Tram line 14) from the tram stop there is a further ten minute walk to the stadium from M-Park. Please note public transport stops at 1.00am. A taxi from Basel city centre to the stadium should cost approximately CHF 30. Note: Swiss currency is the Swiss Franc. Once you arrive at the stadium there will be several security and ticket checks and you will be searched. Be aware that due to the recent events in France and Europe in general, the security will be stricter and enhanced we are informed by UEFA and LOC that there will now be additional security measures and ticket checks along accessible routes to the stadium and fans with official tickets should therefore allow additional time for your journey. Due to these additional security measures your journey to the stadium will take longer and therefore fans are encouraged to get to the stadium early.

·From Barfusserplatz and Marktplatz to the stadium is a 30 minute walk to the stadium.
·There is not a car parking facility available in the surrounding area of the stadium so we would advise all fans to follow general traffic signage that will lead to parking areas in the city and take public transport from there.
·Supporters with restricted mobility will be seated at the rear of the supporters in C block of the West tribune (Stand). Access is by gates B, C & G1-5. There is a lift to take you up to the general concourse level. There is ample space and a good viewing position behind the home fans. There are toilets and kiosk facilities in the concourse all along the back of the stand. Turnstiles open at 17:45 hours and supporters are advised to arrive in good time.
·Alcohol will not be available within the stadium and there are no local bars in the vicinity for visiting fans.
- There are certain items that are prohibited in the stadium, just as you would expect in the UK and it is advised not to bring large bags and other large items. Pyrotechnic devices are illegal – If you are caught attempting to bring these into the stadium or letting them off in the stadium you will be arrested and banned from the stadium.There is a heavy fine system for those arrested.
·Any groups arriving in coaches or mini-buses will be identified by car park stewards on approach to the stadium and will be directed to the dedicated coach parking area. You will need to get permission from the Swiss authorities to take a foreign coach into Switzerland and to get a parking permit to park at the designated coach parking area. The contact details are
- Fans should be aware there will be segregation in operation in the stadium and once through the various security checks you should note that access will only be possible at the turnstiles indicated on individual tickets. The doors on concourses will be closed to prevent migration of supporters around the stadium
Post-Match / travelling back to the city centre-
·Extra trains to Zürich and Bern have been organized for after the game and departure times will be adapted should the game go into extra time. Please find below departure details depending on the match scenario:

If the game ends after 90 minutes:
-Regular train 1, departure 00:13 to Zurich main station
-Regular train 2, departure 00:02 to Berne main station
In case of extra-time:
-Extra-Train 1, departure 00.28 to: Zurich main station (via Rheinfelden, Frick, Brugg, Baden, Wettingen, Killwangen, Dietikon, Schlieren, Zürich Altstetten)
-Extra-Train 2, departure 00.31 to: Berne main station (via Liestal, Sissach, Olten, Langenthal, Herzogenbuchsee, Burgdorf)
In case of extra-time and penalty shoot-outs:
-Extra-Train 1, departure 00.45 to: Zurich main station (via Rheinfelden, Frick, Brugg, Baden, Wettingen, Killwangen, Dietikon, Schlieren, Zürich Altstetten)
-Extra-Train 2, departure 00.45 Uhr to: Berne main station (via Liestal, Sissach, Olten, Langenthal, Herzogenbuchsee, Burgdorf)
Please note, an extra train to Geneva has also been organised:
-Departure 02.20 to Geneva (via Biel/Bienne, Neuchatel and Geneva) – arrival time in Geneva 04.54
- The train to Geneva has a capacity of 800 pax while the ones to Berne and Zurich have capacity of 1000 pax
- Approximate cost of train to Geneva is CHF 75, Berne CHF 40 and Zurich CHF 33
- No special trains have been organised post -match to Germany or France, normal schedules are to be followed
-Fans travelling to Mulhouse should use transportation to Basel airport

·Two taxi ranks will be available post-match - east and west of the stadium
·Taxi drivers will do long trips, however it will depend on their shift end as there are strict rules in Switzerland on amount of hours they are allowed to do in a row.
Passports and visas
·If you are a British Citizen or British Subject with Right of Abode in the United Kingdom, you will not need a visa to enter Switzerland. Other British passport holders should check entry requirements with the nearest British Embassy or local Consulate Office. ·Your passport should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay. No additional period of validity beyond this is required.
·Please ensure your passport in kept safe. In case of lost or stolen passports, please contact the British Embassy in Berne (contact details are shown above) in order to arrange an appointment for an Emergency Travel Document.
·Adequate travel insurance should be obtained prior to travelling.
·Remember your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) but also take out travel insurance, even if you’re only going for one night – it could save you a lot of money if you get into difficulties.
General Advice:
·It should be noted by fans that the following items will not be allowed into the stadium. Back packs and large bags, plus the usual prohibited items as per UK ground regulations. Hand bags will be permitted (but will be searched)
·Anybody travelling without tickets are strongly advised NOT to. Although there is a central meeting point at Barfusserplatz and Marktplatz, there are limited facilities and the bars close down for an hour and a half at midday until 1.30pm. The bars also close down at midnight after the game.
·Although crime rate is relatively low in Switzerland, take precautions against pick pockets and confidence tricksters who work in gangs. Keep your personal belongings close to you at all times, do not keep important documents like your passport and credit cards in the same place. Only carry what you need, keep all other belongings in your hotel safe.

Supporter liaison Officer
To assist those supporters who are attending away matches both domestically and in Europe, a dedicated fan support telephone number and email address has been introduced which is available for travelling fans attending away fixtures (this line of communication is for urgent matters relating to the game only).
This line / email will be made available two hours before kick-off and will be open until one hour after final whistle. Outside of these times there will be a recorded message facility available for travelling fans to record any issues with regard to the game. Advice from Merseyside Police:
A team of Merseyside Police Officers will be operationally deployed overseas for the Liverpool FC v Sevilla FC football match being played in Switzerland on Wednesday 18th May 2015. The officers are there at the invitation of the Swiss Police and have no powers whilst deployed. The primary function of the team is to advise the local police service and gather and disseminate information.
