Surveillance Manager

Based near to M1, Junc 27,

37 Hours per week

£27,244 - £29,014

The East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) provides support in the fight against serious and organised crime to the five Forces in the East Midlands region (Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire).

We currently have a vacancy for a Surveillance Manager which although will be predominately based at our northern Hub in Nottinghamshire will cover hubs in Leicestershireand Lincolnshire

The role manages control rooms and covert monitoring posts on a day to day basis in support of EMSOU operational staff deployed on covert operations. In addition the successful candidate will manage the communications systems and manage and carry out basic maintenance of technical surveillance aids and observations equipment.

It is essential that applicants meet the all the criteria within the person specification for the role including:-

Must be educated to A Level Standard in English or demonstrate equivalent work experience

Currently or previously trained to level 1 Surveillance standard

Demonstrate experience of working within covert surveillance, including knowledge of surveillance tactics.

Demonstrate experience of training staff to use communications equipment and software applications

Prepared to undergo SC/MV vetting checks

Prepared to undergo random drug and alcohol testing

Have a full drive licence (Reasonable adjustments considered under Equality Act 2010)

Owing to the exigencies of the service, requests may be made for overtime working and compensation will be by way of time off or overtime payment, according to circumstances. Whilst every effort is made to adhere to rostered duties, rest days and public/bank holidays, these may be changed on occasion at short notice. A degree of flexibility in working hours must therefore be acceptable to you
