Non-ferrous metals & alloys have played critical role in human development. Indian non-ferrous industry is going through a major phase of growth as well as challenges. On one hand, growth drivers like Make in India, infrastructure development, electric mobility, etc. are increasing industry demand for value added products; while on the other, industry is also facing challenges of sustainability, cost, quality, availability of raw materials and energy, waste management, global competition, etc.

However, recent policy changes for Defense and Aerospace industries in India have opened new markets for Indian non-ferrous industries specially for aluminium and titanium alloys. Advancement of electrical and driverless transport systems are also going to change the requirements of metals and alloys. The light-weighting and eco-friendly technologies have created demand for certain non-ferrous metals & alloys with higher strength per unit weight. Considering these developments and their impact on Indian metal industries, we are arranging a number of mini-symposia to discuss the recent developments, challenges and the way forward for experts from non-ferrous metal industries and academia. In addition to conventional primary processing and production related themes, this year special emphasis will be placed on applications and downstream processing of non-ferrous metals & alloys with four dedicated symposia on applications. We cordially invite you to submit abstracts for presentation in the following symposia:
